Grandmaster TSE 08-06-2008 05:58 PM

don't go too expensive
i say cook her dinner or do a picnic
then slowly work your way up to jewelry and stuff later on

ZhangFei 08-06-2008 07:20 PM

why is it on days such as anniversaries or valentine's day, men fork out dough?

My relationships haven't made it past valentine's day so i don't know. do women fork out dough for their men too?

Good ones do.

Best celebration date I did with my lady was to tell her to be dressed for a fancy night out, and have an overnight bag ready to go at a certain time. I picked her up right on time, was looking as good as I ever have, in a car that was as clean as it gets. I bit the bullet and played her favourite music for an hour or so while we cruised along all the beaches here in Victoria, then we checked into a hotel (that was having a great 'romance' special - many hotels do this), and had some appys there in the lounge. We then drove up to a decent restaurant with a killer view and had candelight dinner on their deck. We went back to the hotel where the bed had been turned down, champagne was out, and there were some truffles waiting for us. An hour or so of fervid humping, and I was the hero. Totally awesome night.

it's obvious since he didn't come back to blame us, whatever he chose worked.

i have already thought about jewellery, but i kinda wanted some new gift ideas that i probably would never have thought of.

swarvoski's crystals is what i'm leaning towards right now as we are not in the stage for diamonds yet.

i guess 8 years is really hard since you probably got some many different types of gifts that eventually u will have to buy something similar next time.....

throw her down some stairs.

now we're thinking,

seriously tho,
maybe get her a spa package ;)

Edit: or for most win, after dinner at restaurant, take her home where candles are lit, and you give her an epic massage with oils and whatnot which would lead to incredible sex

yes they do... well I do at least cause I don't think that it's just the man's responsibility to do so. On my 1 year with one of my ex's I paid for 2 nights at a local hotel for the honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi

g604 08-07-2008 07:04 AM

give her a brand new vacuum or new kitchen utilities i am sure she would love that :P

It depends on her hobbies and interests.

My gf loves reading so I bought her a whole bunch of books from her favorite authors for one of our anniversaries

She knows I love watching "24" so another time she got me this huge ass Jack Bauer poster that you see inside movie theatres imported from the UK. It could have been $5 or $500 but I don't care because for these kinds of occasions it's the thought that counts.

Best idea so far. It shows you know your gf well and that you listen to her or notice even the littlest most insignificant things that makes her happy. Despite money not being much of a factor, this route may be the hardest one to pull off because of the above mentioned reason.

+1 if you choose this method.

Shun Izaki 08-07-2008 09:59 AM

"whatever she likes, if you've been going out this long, i'm sure you know what she likes...

For another ex of mine, it was tiffany stuff LOL"

i did mention that -.- so OP, what did you pick?

Mananetwork 08-07-2008 12:19 PM

I wonder what my gf would say if I surprised her with a crowbar on her birthday :lol

then be like "bitch, you said you wanted one" then leave.

call her a few hours later asking for your crowbar back, and when you go to pick it up, have your car full of super hot girls.

on second thought, that may be an expensive trip to the bodyshop, but if you could get it on video, someone would pay enough for it on the internet that you'd be laughing, with 3 other hot bitches.

Female perspective for the anniversary.

Choose one from each catagory;;

A. Cook her dinner. If you can't cook, buying pre-made sauces and making pasta isn't hard.
or
Take her for a drive somewhere far from the city where there is no lights and have a picnic under the stars. Being blankets for cuddles and shit. If you want, make her some sort of dessert. Buy one of those "just add milk" betty crocker ones from the supermarket and just shove it in the oven. That way you technically "made" it with very little effort.
or
Beach at night same as above.
or
Take her out to a nice dinner but that could be costly

B. Buy her something cheap yet memorable. Buy her a single rose with something corny like "one rose to represent the one girl I love". That way you can be cheap. Plus add on of the following;

An ID bracelet with something meaningful engraved. Seriously, the female ones are like $20 + engraving.
OR
ring that is engraved. could be costly
OR
A swarovski crystal or jewellery. Girls have a fascination for expensive, useless, shiny things.

minix3 08-07-2008 06:37 PM

Oh, or a soft toy. Bitches love soft toys.
