Gift for GF on one year anniversary

So my gf and I are reaching one year together soon.

What do you think is a good gift for her?

I know I will buy a dozen of red roses and have dinner with her, but I have no idea about what to buy as a gift.

I prefer not to spend over $150 on our first year anniversary. I'll probably spend more as we get together longer.

Let me know what you guys and girls think....

Thanks

Just cook her dinner or something.

If it has to be something material, then obviously go for either: a stuff toy of her favorate character or some sort of inexpensive jewelry.

I vote nothing except maybe take her out for dinner and possibly some flowers.

You know this thread just reminded me my wedding anniversary is tomorrow I honestly forgot until just now.

I'd stay away from roses. Everyone does it, why not find out her favourite flower and get her a dozen of those instead?

As for a gift, you could always give her a gift certificate or something for her favourite hobby/sport/whatever she likes to do, ie. river rafting trip, spa treatment, etc.

trdees 08-06-2008 01:15 PM

coupons for giving you blowjobs

ZhangFei 08-06-2008 01:21 PM

i was gonna say dick in a box......

i think you should write her a poem or song or sing it to her. serenade her

talk about your feelings. girls like it.

anyways I feel kind of hypocritical writing this because I don't believe in this kinda thing... but yeah. lol

or get her three roses like I did once.

Red, Yellow, White
red: for love
yellow: for friendship
white: for companionship/loyalty

Quote:

red

There’s nothing secret about the red rose’s symbolism of love. Valentine’s Day would hardly exist without this bold and dramatic bloom. The ultimate symbol of romantic love and enduring passion, the red rose also conveys respect and the creative spirit of love. Representing true love stronger than thorns, the red rose is known universally as the lover’s rose.

white

Representing, humility, purity and innocence, the white rose - often referred to as the bridal rose - is associated with young love. In Scotland, when the white rose bloomed in autumn, it was seen as a token of early marriage. Also symbolizing truth and reverence, it sends a message of loyalty and says "I am worthy of you."

yellow

While in Victorian times, the yellow rose symbolized jealousy, today it represents friendship, joy and caring. A bouquet of these sun-filled blossoms conveys warmth, gladness and affection.

pink

Symbolizing gentility, femininity, elegance and refinement, the pink rose also carries additional meanings depending on its hue. A deep pink conveys gratitude and appreciation, while pale shades connote grace and gentleness, admiration and happiness.

orange

With their warm, vibrant tones, orange roses symbolize enthusiasm and desire. If you’re looking for a way to express admiration and attraction - with an underlying message of passion and excitement - then send a bouquet filled with these fiery blooms.

lilac & purple

Thought to be almost mystical in nature, with symbolism tied to enchantment, desire and even proceeding cautiously, it’s not surprising that lilac and purple roses send a message of love at first sight, A great Valentine flower.

color combination

In some instances - usually when mixing red with another color rose - you can send additional messages with your choice of bouquet. For example, a combination of red and yellow roses conveys gaiety and happiness, while a mix of red and white roses symbolizes unity.

still more rose symbolism

As if color weren’t enough to express your innermost thoughts, there are still more ways that roses can convey your message. For example, while fresh flowers in a bouquet - like roses in full bloom-express deep gratitude, a single rose says “I still love you.” A bouquet of rosebuds - representing innocent love - says “you are forever young and beautiful.” And a thornless rose says “love at first sight,” while the tea rose says “I’ll remember you always.”

she drive? fill up a tank of gas for her, those are quite valuable these days...

alright, jokes aside :p

my opinion, $100 - $150 range jewellery is a pretty decent choice, try either a nice necklace or a bracelet, doesn't have to be gold or white gold, a nice titanium made jewellery costs around $100 or so, and trust me, they do have some nice designs.

here's a tip about stuffed toys, those are only about $20 - $30, what i recommand is, get those for her as a suprise every few months, that'll keep her happy for less $$$!

hal0g0dv2 08-06-2008 03:03 PM

get her a ed hardy t-shirt every girl wants one of those, jk jk
dinner at some nice place and jewelry

BNR32_Coupe 08-06-2008 03:09 PM

Get her some swarovski. It's the most well known name in crystals, a decent necklace would run you $100-$150, and they look OK. Titanium rings, etc, are nice but not expensive too

dude your a fucken idiot if you don't know what to get your g/f after only a yr. I've been with mine for 8 now thats hard to figure out what to get.

Ch28 08-06-2008 04:32 PM

It depends on her hobbies and interests.

My gf loves reading so I bought her a whole bunch of books from her favorite authors for one of our anniversaries

She knows I love watching "24" so another time she got me this huge ass Jack Bauer poster that you see inside movie theatres imported from the UK. It could have been $5 or $500 but I don't care because for these kinds of occasions it's the thought that counts.
