Chantal Gibson.

I took IAT309W which is highly similar to BUS360 with Chantal Gibson. She's an excellent prof. She wants all her students to succeed as long as her students put in the effort to write something good. I learned much from her and recommend her.

Shayan4440 12-26-2015 03:23 PM

100% true ^

However, since her primary area of focus is in the IAT program, she isn't always listed as a 360 lecturer like most of the other profs. Eric Tung is probably one of the better ones you can take it with.

Same here. I really hope that it's just a hiccup in their log in system (like what happened a while back) and that my info wasn't compromised.

^ easier if you just click "weekly schedule" and then sort by list view

Anyone know if there is a fire up on SFU? Heard Burnaby dispatched 8 fire trucks up to SFU and saw the chopper hovering around SFU.
Don't see anything on the news.

Anyone take BUS 320 before?

areyounoob 01-11-2016 08:43 AM

Is there a place on campus that's calm and/or serene?. Or someone that I can talk to for free? Is there anything like that on campus? I know there are services that are offered over the phone, but I would really like to talk to someone in person.

Something tragic happened in my family over the weekend and I need someone to talk to, or a place to gather my thoughts as healthily as possible. Or let it all out. I don't know. Mondays are my busiest days and I thought that I could shake off this grief by getting out of the house but it's still there. I couldn't focus at all in my 8:30 AM class so I really should've stayed home, but it hurts so much to be home right now. In retrospect, I was able to take notes, so I can review that later on.

^ counselling service in mbc. haven't personally gone myself, so I don't know what to expect, but you can go in and talk to someone, dunno if it's walk in or if you have to book an appointment.

I remember booking an appointment 2 days in advanced for counselling over the phone for Surrey campus. The number to reach them at is 778-782-5200, maybe emphasize that you'd benefit from it sooner than later and hopefully they can bump your appointment up...or ask around to see which campus has availability soonest.

You could also send me a message if you'd like to chat online and in person. What ever it is, you're definitely acknowledging and seeking help - which is the first and most important step to getting back up emotionally!

areyounoob 01-13-2016 06:16 PM

Thank you guys for your help. Things have gotten better, and I do believe that I can manage with my current support system.

If I need to, though, I will definitely contact the Counselling service. Thanks again :)

Anybody have recommendations for an Anatomy App? I'm on an early 2014 Macbook Air with 10.10.5 OS X Yosemite, looking at Human Anatomy Atlas/Essential Anatomy 5, but a lot of people say they bought it and can't open it so I don't want to spend 50 dollars and have the app not open

nvm

Isn't the one on the phone free? I downloaded one a while back.

Check this website out. Muscular System: Anatomy and Physiology | Muscle Anatomy | Quizzes

I assume you're taking BPK 325/326?

iVTEC_Do_You? 01-27-2016 11:32 PM

I'm only taking BPK241 at the moment but there is a bit of anatomy required for the course. Going to need to know the anatomy for future courses, so I might as well start now. That website looks good, just wish it was a tad more user friendly (viewing from different angles) as I'm a visual learner and it helps me to be able to see things in relation to the whole body

If you click on a muscle, it'll give you the option to look at the origin insertion. Some muscles will also have the 3D image option.

I did.

Some things I remember from the exams..

- Know your graphs (we had to reproduce a graph on the midterm)

- Know your rep ranges, % strength for programs (e.g., what is the optimal amount of sets for hypertrophy)

- Know cardiorespiratory changes as your aerobic intensity increases (e.g., heart size and volume increases with long-term aerobic training; at maximal exercise, max HR does not change, stroke volume increases, etc)

To keep it short, Tony tends to put 1 or 2 "listing-style" short answer questions worth 3-5 marks in his exams. MC is a piece of cake if you know your shit

Literally anything from the online textbook is fair game on his exams. I wrote notes on every section of each chapter, and although a lot of work (material is simple though), it was not a waste of time (got 91 in the course).
