There aren't a lot of places in the Vancouver/Tri-city/Richmond areas where you can get to a dark enough area in order to see it properly. You need to either head north to at least Cypress (or even Grouse) or east towards the countryside of Langley onwards. I've already got my spot picked out for tonight.

| Generally just lock your shutter open and leave it for a while - they'll leave long streaks across the small arcs of stars.

Pitt Lake, or up that direction, is great - the surrounding mountains block out the city lights nicely without blocking too much of the sky.
