No. The guys at Wireless Etc. were immensely helpful. First I went to see if I was eligible for a Rogers HW upgrade, then got interested in Fido's new plan (unlimited texting vs. Rogers would only offer MY5). The guys at Wireless Etc. were able to get Rogers to terminate my contract one year early w/o termination fee and signed me up on a new Fido contract.

^If you switch between Rogers/Fido, there is a new clause which allows them to waive the ECF pending on the # of months you have left.

for 22.5 before tax (that's after 15 credits to my acct).
Plus data plan which is $30.
So total comes to $52.5 before tax.

Haha I just jumped from telus to rogers and signed a 3 year contract for my iphone.
I have the $17.50 epp plan
200 daytime minutes
unlimited weekends and evenings (6pm)
$30 iphone essentials data plan
500mb data
10,000 text messages
caller id
visual voicemail
I'm paying $61.54 a month. I know this is way to early to ask but I wonder if they would be able to give me unlimited incoming, visual voicemail, caller id and 2500 text messages and waive sif and 911 like they did for everyone else  | |

call 611 from your phone, a customer service agent will pick up. tell them directly you want to talk to customer relations

Yeah. I called and was told they were closed.
Some guy asked what I wanted though and we eneded up talking about plans for a short while... I wish the CS people who hate their job worked in retentions... I would have been given everything I wanted haha

Well, I didn't call today...I will tomorrow.
I'm going to see if they will toss in some data for me and maybe give me a BB bold or something.. while I continue to pay my ridiculous $80 a month. This way I get data for my iPhone 2g, a phone I can keep for backup or sell it via used Victoria, and they still get all my monies haha

I don't know what you guys are talking about when you said don't talk to dudes. I just got off the phone from retentions and the guy on the the line was super nice! I said telus was willing to give me a BB pearl and 3GB worth of data, plus the plan I have now all for less than what I'm paying with fido right now. The fellow tried to give me all that but said I have to wait 'till april for a phone upgrade, so I should call back then, and since he couldn't give me that, he said he would upgrade my txting to unlimited, and group my voicemail, caller ID, and all that stuff together so I will be saving $15 a month.
I'm going to call back in april to get my blackberry and data haha
Side note: jlo mein, I think your right. Rogers is the only one who offers the bold

after 2 weeks of getting someone to honour my offer from a guy who quit fido retention, I finally got:
27.50 + taxes

Unlimited evening and weekends at 5pm
Voicemail, Caller id, and 2500 text
Unlimited local calls for 6 months
Unfortunately, it was for 3 years so I could get the iphone.
