Basic Stock on W4th is having a sale.. so is Ming Wo.

Since this is for a non professional setting. I can't see the reason you really need the best knife set out there.

was just at House of Knives the other day. When looking for a knife, look for one made using the drop forge process. Stay far far away from the stamped steel.

Definitely get Shun, the VG-10 steel is much better than those German's, yet still very affordable. I sharpen knives as a hobby so I have tried many knives from all the people I know.

Get a Wusthof and call it a day.
I've honed it ONCE in a whole month of use in a busy restaurant setting.

Cuts through Raw Primals and Fillets like butter.

Theres a place on broadway that has EVERYTHING u need in a kitchen even proffesional setting. Global knives are cheaper there too. I believe its 79 99 for the medium french knife and 89 99 for the HUGE one.

GET GLOBAL so sharp you ll get a boner
