Get paid to drive? Has anyone tried this?

I was looking into getting paid for putting stickers

on my car or even do a complete autowrap and get paid.

It sounded that some companies in US do this to few

people and was wondering if anybody gotten any success

with this? I currently applied to both

www.autowraps.com
and
www.freepaidcars.com

I will update you guys with any emails i get. Meanwhile
I would like to hear your past experience if you have any.

alex.w *// 10-13-2008 08:31 PM

its pretty boring though driving without a destination

PMPJuiL 10-13-2008 08:33 PM

tell me more! how much are you getting paid and what are the terms? Did you put ads on your car like stickers or full body wrap?

Konvict 10-13-2008 10:44 PM

if i got a free car...would be ok..but i dont wanan put any big stickers on mine lol

SolidPenguin 10-14-2008 01:19 AM

The FreePaidCars one seems too good to be true...and you know the saying with "too good to be true"

But if it was legit i'd totally do it.

i saw an ad on Oct 2nd craigslist about some guy wanting to pay for his ad on your car. I sent him an email and he only offered $50 a month. I mean i'm not saying that's a chump change but come on, people should get paid more than that right?

depends on how big the sticker is?

heleu 10-14-2008 07:05 AM

I would expect them to pay at least the lease rate on a econobox (i.e. $200-$300 a month).

q0192837465 10-14-2008 01:04 PM

wow, I'd be interested too. It makes my car look like a race car w/ many sponsors

Joke aside, I drive A LOT everyday, it may help me pay for gas

PMPJuiL 10-14-2008 04:27 PM

yeah that's all I want too, I just want some gas money, I don't really care what kind of ad. I applied to all the companies in the freeepaidcars.com and still waiting for email.
I will keep you guys updated.

If I didn't have my own business, I'd do it if it covered at least the insurance money.

As a business owner though, I definitely wouldn't pay just anyone to put my logo on their car. I don't want some retarded driver representing my company to people.

skyxx 10-14-2008 05:38 PM

^ Are you looking to expand your pizza over here :D I wouldn't mind some!!!

I got a few emails from the companies i applied through freepaidcars.com.

They were just replied emails for applying and it says if I get chosen, One of

the company's said

full autowrap rates are 1800/vehicle per month(3months)
1400/vehicle per month(6months)
1000/vehicle per month(9months)
and partial wrap rates are 600, 400, and 200.

Their requirements are 60kms a day and car needs to be insured all the time.
I had to submit my driving route and they would check at random location
along my route to see if I am following my route. Also, I would need to
participte an event to advertise and hand-out either pamphlets, samples,
and coupon depending on the company. I mean this sounds too good.
What do you guys think?

SkunkWorks 10-14-2008 08:59 PM

Sign me up! Sounds pretty good.

I find it strange though how the price decreases the LONGER you advertise for them.

PMPJuiL 10-15-2008 01:34 AM

yeah i found that strange too. they probably want to spend less money for providing a driver with longer period of income?

skyxx 10-15-2008 01:36 AM

I'd hate to stack up mileage like that on a car, I'd rather them provide a car :D

tiger_handheld 10-15-2008 09:30 AM

i signed up for something like this , but never went anywhere , they have my name , address , phone , and email.... this mayb why i get a lot of telemarketers calling my house....

SkunkWorks 10-15-2008 09:49 AM

For $1800, you can sign a long-term rental for way cheap and still profit.

Just a thought for all you entrepreneurs out there.

I do.. haha

Update!: I got an email from a web hosting company in UK. They asked me to send few exterior photos of my car and also asked a tracking device to be installed to follow up on my driving route. They want 5 months of advertising w/ decent monthly wage. They are willing to set up a website for me and wanting me to work as an affiliate as well to get % of sale I make.

I mean everything sounds good for me except the tracking device part...
I guess there's no better way for them to see if I am doing my job other than the device... do I take this deal? or wait for other deal?
