what were u playing?

punkwax 10-18-2008 08:26 AM

Give it up man. It's gone.

Why would you bring up jeans and shoes? Seems kinda pathetic to me. Was the reason you made this thread was to show you had $1700 to blow?

That aside, as someone else mentioned; don't chase your losses.

dmc_civic 10-18-2008 08:54 AM

Fuck man, i could never risk 1700$ at a casino, when i go i always just go with 20$-40$ and if I get ahead i put the 20-40 back into my pocket and just play with winnings. And if you lose, hey you got what you came in with in ur pocket.

hotjoint 10-18-2008 01:00 PM

I don't even bother with gambling. Cansino's always win in the end. I know tons of people with gambling problems. I just laugh at them :lol. I've been to the casino a few times with $20. Once I lose the $20, I leave and feel like shit. Can't imagine the people that lose thousands and still go back. Quit now before its too late or unless you like working for nothing and giving your money to the casino :)

stewie 10-18-2008 01:21 PM

this is why i leave my debit card at home, and only bring a couple hundred bucks with me when i go!

greed + atm machines are a recipe for disaster!

Meowjin 10-18-2008 02:41 PM

dum security then.... yep CC and debit is a bad idea.. but i still brought it with me before.. very bad idea.. good thing they stop letting you withdraw after awhile.

nismosx 10-18-2008 06:37 PM

this is a little off topic but out of the 3 whats worst drugs, gambling, drinking
in the end you fail but list from 1 to 3

yameen 10-18-2008 06:42 PM

gambling is all about bankroll. don't play with money you can't afford to lose and if you're having a bad streak, suck it up and leave. chances are you'll end up playing with a confused mind and lose more. i've won $700 by playing holdem over 4 visits (not bragging btw), and for my last visit, i lost $150 and decided to call it quits. i could be like "oh i'm up from before, i should keep playing". i had 2 all-in bad beats on the river so i quit. play smart...and i like that motto "gamble to win but play within your limits" they have at RR.

I assume u mean hardcore drugs like meth or heroin, gambling addicts, and alcoholics?

Then i would rank it: drugs, drinking, gambling

yameen 10-18-2008 06:50 PM

^^ same with me. if however gambling starts to involve marriage savings, children funds, your house....then i think gambling, drugs, drinking.

Chan Ho Nam 10-18-2008 06:58 PM

sucks to be you.

I won around 8g on slots in the past 2 years...:lol

Mr.HappySilp 10-18-2008 07:00 PM

I wong 29 dollars and left lol. Well I don't gamble lol. I think I went into a casnio less than 5times lol.

Meowjin 10-18-2008 08:02 PM

Gambling handsdown. You get the same "high" that you would from some drugs.

kookoobird88 10-18-2008 08:31 PM

ive only gone gambling one

was on a 1 cent machine i put 5 bucks in , was on the machine for 45 min came out with 30 bucks haha, every time i only had 1 spin left i got lucky and won a few more bucks, pretty lucky i'd say

Ch28 10-18-2008 08:33 PM

Funny you should mention this...Grandmaster and I went to RR last night for some poker and we both came out losing money.

You have to go into a casino with an amount of money that you're comfortable losing. The reason that so many people get into debt is due to them all thinking they'll go into the casino and come out rich.

dragon_88 10-19-2008 09:35 PM

if your gonna play something, play poker. at least your not losing to the casino

agentcloud 10-19-2008 10:05 PM

^^well.. ur still paying rake

exactly. If you're playing 1-2 NL at River Rock, the max rake they can take is $5 per hand, + $1 for the bad beat pot. Imagine there are 30 hands per hour. That would be a max of $180/hour that the casino is taking off the table per hour. That is more than most people's starting buy-in for 1-2!

Nvasion 10-19-2008 11:13 PM

the rake is a money cow for the casino. so many tables... so much money

Win win = gf pays for dinner and you get ass from some JB :)

Actually, I do gamble, having fully known the problems associated with it. It's just for entertainment value though.

well yeah, but you get the point. Skill game over Luck. Yes, a little luck helps when it comes to poker and gambling but Your not always gonna get lucky with house games because we all know casino always have the odds with them.Poker, its just all about patient and well timed aggression that some people just dont have. Why? because they rather play house games to win fast instead of sitting at a table for hours and just winning couple hundred dollas that they could've won in 30 mins playing blackjack or whatever (referring to some people i know). In the long run, Poker is still gambling,You will get a bad run no mater how well youve played. But a $200 buyin for 1/2NL will last you a while if you playa cards right than say 200 on a few hands of blackjack or whatever depending on your luck that day
