Fallout3

Just acquired the game today and I was actually pretty surprised that it wasn't half bad.

I'm probably the hugest fallout fanboy/nerd and despite the bastardization of the story and complete reworking of most of fallout's key elements I have to say the game is actually good.

Anyone else in here pickup this game yet?

Not really... since there is no Crysis 2... unless you mean Warhead, in which case it's also an easy solution... Or if you meant Far Cry 2, again, an easy solution. Since the games are completely different genres, all you have to do is answer, do you want to play an RPG or an FPS?

Now Warhead and Far Cry 2 might be a tougher decision (although IMO the answer is Far Cry 2)

Personally I wouldn't waste the money on FarCry 2. IMO the game is only avg at best. If you don't mind 3rd person hit up DeadSpace. Or if the choice must be between FarCry and Fallout I suggest giving Fallout 3 a try. It ain't your typical RPG, alot more action oriented although don't mistake it for a straight up FPS since trailers and vids make some people think this.

I had a chance to try out fallout 3 for PC and it's a lot of fun so far. I'd highly recommend it.

Actually I am quite enjoying Far Cry 2. sure, there are a few things that are annoying as fuck, but overall it's a great game. It's sort of like a FPS version of Oblivion or GTA, taking place in Africa (if any of that makes sense )

you meant Fallout 3?

Far Cry is a good game, but can it pick pocket and drop a nard in someone's back pocket?

I do a mixture probably half and half. I did buy fallout 3 but I downloaded Far Cry 2. I prefer fallout but I'm a fan boy of the series even though it's not the same developers.

I downloaded Far Cry 2 as well. The game is way over rated. You spend more time driving in this stupid ass game than shooting. Every mission makes you go to random places across the map. "Go to Mike's bar to get your pills" you go there and the jackass there tells you you have to go across the fucking map to a priest to get them. The game honestly just feels like a very very repetitive generic shooter. The voice acting, or should I say reading, is terrible and apparently the readers have no idea what a comma or period means. No idea how this game even got such high ratings. (I'm playing the 360 version btw)

Glad I downloaded it cause I would've cried if I spent $60 on this.

I'm dl'ing FO3 right now (from Steam obviously.........), if I like it I'm gonna go buy it. I just don't wanna support Bethesda's aforementioned bastardization unless its actually good enough to play.

Fallout 2 gets my vote for best cRPG of all time BTW, I loved that shit.

I buy all my games, unless it has online and it's on PC.

Having that said, if any can PM a working torrent for Fallout 3 I'd appreciate it. In exchange I can link them to FarCry2 torrent

At this rate, it seems both games are a bit overrated... I'm not really sure what I'm getting into then. The games aren't cheap. Fallout costs like $59.99. Most PC games are only $49.99. And I thought these were FPS games, but now it sounds like they are RPG or something??

I'm interested in games like Crysis and CoD4. So if either of these gamee aren't like that, then I guess I just saved myself $100+

Far Cry 2 is an action shooter like Crysis/CoD4.

Fallout 3 is more like Oblivion.

That said, I just got Fallout 3 and I'm loving it. The humor is great, especially when doing the GOAT test at the beginning lol. I thought the graphics looked a bit off in the beginning but once you step outside the vault, everything looks beautiful and I'm only playing on a 360 @ 1080p. The VATS thing is great even though I thought it would get annoying.

just downloaded fallout3 for pc but i wont get to play it until i upgrade my video card hahaha. (anyone wanna sell their 8800gt/gts?)

However, i have been playing it on xbox360, and so far i aint that hooked into it yet, mainly because it reminds me too much of oblivion and i never really like that system.
With that say, i will milk this game for a while until i finish 'aquiring' fable2 and deadspace for pc.

offtopic about fallout3's story

Spoiler!

huh?

farcry, i've heard very shitty reviews.

fallout 3 is a great series, but i'm not an RPG guy. Oblivion is pure RPG and i just gave up on that shit within the first hour. if Fallout is about the same i woudl kill myself.

i'm acuatlly on dead space and i love that game. it's like bioshock, the ONLY thing that's lacking is the ability to upgrade the amount of skills you have and bioshock = underwater world
daed space = in a space ship, hence the boring / look alike environment

Yeah Dead Space is awesome. It feels more like Resident Evil 4 to me than Bioshock though.
