i would like to know this too

they have paper feeders that act as scanners so hard copies can also be 'checked'

They can also just type a line of it with quotes into google and get a better result :)

bump this thread .

I have a question..
If say I wrote a paragraph / essay, and it somehow matches with a sentence(s) on the internet, but it wasn't word for word. And the idea wasn't from the internet but it was the same, would that be consider plagiarism ?

^Don't worry about it unless that happens numerous times in your essay/paragraph. Most of the ideas you generate have already been thought of by someone else. They just don't like it when you copy and paste and change a few words.

hmm. Its just that my sister was caught by adminstration, because she " plagiarise" . But I know she didnt, because I gave her the idea, and she generated it in her own words. And now shes in trouble and I dont quite understand why tho

Im just thinking, if teachers go through your work through sites like turnitin.com
Can they make judgement and assume you stole the ideas off the net ?
