looks like it..i didnt mind it..let things be unresolved and see what happens next season

It would be hilarious if next season was the first 24 to begin exactly where the previous season of 24 left off. You'll have people running around for 48 hours without any sleep/food/bathrooms!

Is there a tally of how many seasons ended with cliffhangers and how many had a true ending?

thumper 05-20-2009 06:25 AM

who knows what will happen next year? depending on the outcome of this new assault charge against kiefer sutherland for punching that designer at that event, he could be doing his show from a jail cell?

’24′ May Return To Fox As Limited Series: Report

Kiefer Sutherland in talks to reprise lead role

One surprising news tidbit emerging during a day filled with series orders from the Big Four has to do with a show that left the airwaves three years ago: Fox’s “24.”

Fox is eying a limited series revival of the real-time thriller, according to a report on Deadline. Kiefer Sutherland, who toplined the serialized program, is in talks to reprise his role as covert agent Jack Bauer. Sutherland may have time on his hands now that it appears his Fox drama series “Touch” will not be renewed for a third season.

“24″ ran eight seasons on Fox. It also picked up 20 Emmys during its run, including best drama series in 2006. Rumors swirled last year that the 20th Century Fox TV/Imagine TV series would inspire a feature film with Sutherland attached, but plans never came to fruition and the movie concept was canned.

Awesome! I can't wait!

I suppose that's good timing for Kiefer considering Fox just cancelled Touch as of last night (according to IGN ---> Touch Cancelled by FOX - IGN).

So 12 episode season of 24. Does that mean this time Jack solves the next crisis in only half a day? Or will they forgo the traditional 1 Day clock and have it span over a few days or weeks?

Sounds like it will still take place over the span of 24 hours but skip hours

Jack Bauer will be back, baby: EW has confirmed that Fox will bring back its long-running hit 24 next May.
The network will air 12 episodes of 24: Live Another Day as part of its new directive to air event programming in the summer as a way to tie together the regular seasons. A miniseries from M. Night Shyamalan called “Wayward Pines” will air after the run of 24, which will (naturally) feature the return of Kiefer Sutherland.
The 24 producers “always had the idea of maybe someday doing feature films, but as got into it they all agreed 24 being compressed in two hours is not 24,” Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters today. “A light bulb went off with (former Executive Producer) Howard Gordon. The spine of the 24 episodes is about 12 hours. Those were big events that occurred and little connective tissue in between.”

Unlike what happened in the regular series — where each episode represented an hour in Bauer’s action-packed life — the new version will jump around during the day, Reilly explained. And the star power could be better than ever.
“A lot of who’s who in Hollywood wanted to participate in this,” Reilly said.
Asked why the show was cancelled in 2010, Reilly admitted that it felt like the right time — at the time.
“We wanted it to go out strong,” he said. “We didn’t want to keep it limping for two more seasons.”
Though Reilly says he doesn’t envision 24 becoming a regular series, he won’t rule out its “franchise-ability.”
“People are that much more excited about this,” he said.
