I'm going to crash into somebody and blame the ricer kid in his Corolla for blinding me with his HIDs.

Many cars come with factory hid and reflector housings , lexus , nissan , GM , acura ,etc.
you're talking about D2R...they have reflector SPECIALLY DESIGNED for HIDs...and the bulbs are 35w not 55w, so there are less glare. they are reflector but works differently. Compare a stock 2nd gen TL or an IS300 next to a riced out 6000000000K PnP kit and you'll see a difference.

Ok so i can say that you don't need to do a projector retrofit, just do a reflector retrofit...but why? when the gains from a projector are greater than from a reflector for roughly the same amount of fabrication. The idea is not to praise the projector, but to transplant a tried and true HID system off another car to yours, reflector or projector. Reason why reflector retrofit is not too often seen is because, first, there aren't that many cars that came equipped with a reflector based D2R system. Second, the reflectors themselves are too big to fit many newer cars with 'squinty' headlamps

more on this...look at the typical "ricer" bulbs and compare that with a high quality OEM D2R. Both are designed for reflectors, but the D2R has a black strip that blocks out some light from going all over the place.

Look at this picture, if you still don't understand glare. In the standard halogen pictures, you can barely see all the dummies heads, but in the "ricer" pictures you can clearly see all their heads. Now imagine driving on the opposite lane of some ricer kid and you can understand how annoying that would be.

I can barely see anything above the lighted area

I can see everything, but not really because it only gives me an illusion of more light

Oh, but, other drivers should look away, like we're all taught to do!

considering the glare from the stock base model Honda Fit is right in front of u. well on the opposite lane.

HAHAHA... So these little blue lights from a car 3 lanes over really bother you??You guys have divided multi-lane highways, and your complaining about a kid with blue lights driving towards you 3lanes away hurting your eyes?? Do you also flash your lights at an oncoming car if they leave their high beams on for that second too long?

My point was:

If the glare bothers you... look away from the beams of the light ahead of you - pick a a point of reference aka, the solid white line as oppose to staring at the center line( where the glare is most intense)...that is not changing your driving habits...common sense... like if someone has their high beams on..

AND yes I agree that just slapping HIDs in a car can pose a problem etc etc.. with glare etc, and maybe you guys have a higher percentage of HID equipped cars on the road then we do up here so it does pose a higher problem. I never disagreed with that.

we sure do...and I'm not too concerned with glare because with a lowered car, every oncoming car, PnP'ed or stock, seems like they're highbeaming me. What I just don't get is why people put kits for better lighting

says the person who uses foglights as his driving lights

stupidity: 10000K > stapling your hands to a piece of steak

think of it this way, if you get anything above 8000K you will get roughly the same light output as a halogen...but instead of the yellowish color, you get a dark blue....hmmm I wonder how that contrast with the darkness of the night?

8000k+ is just plain stupid.

get 6000k at most if you want that blue tint without sacrificing too much light output.

are you limited to limited quantity/choice in terms of HID kits?

if only 8000k or 10000k is available, i'd suggest finding another seller.

plenty of HID kits for sale, even from our sponsors, i think a full set was 119 with a 1 year warranty, take a look at the licensed automotive sponsors forum.

the idea is not to "upgrade" to a dimmer lighting. But you have your foglights, so all is well right?

any reason as to why you chose 6000K over 8000K? funny you told the OP to get 8000K when you got 6000K

i think 8000k are sweet and i would get them
but im not looking for the blue tint right now
i personally dont care if people bitch bout my headlights
i dont see any stories on the news:
HID's cause 20 car pileup
like come on
glad you got a laugh about that sunshine
what are you talking bout upgrading to dimmer lighting??
your so S-M-R-T
anything i get will have more light output than what i got
THATS WHY IM USING MY FOGS FOR NOW
