Hmm i tried to partition my hard drive with Magic Partition.. for some reason i cant open the program.. and error pops up saying "init failed error 117 partition's drive cannot be identified".. and when i DO get it able to open when i plug my external drive in, it says my hard drive is "BAD". Tried using a nother program "Paragon Partition Manager 9.0 Professional" and i says the my hard drive isnt formatted at all to NTSF or w.e but when i check computer management my hard drive IS in NTSF format..
Running vista home premium btw

Some actually help MS out by BETA testing and reporting bugs to MS.
Some want to see how it will run on their current hardware, and whether an upgrade is necessary.
For example, i threw Windows7 onto my Eee900 to see it was an alternative other than running Linux and XP.....
And for those of you wondering, it ran really poorly on my Eee900 (celeron 900, SSD). It also lacked the proper drivers, and it drains batter like a mofo. It will probably fair a lot better on an Atom equipped EeePC.

Runs great on my Atom-powered AAOne. Only thing that wasn't running properly from the start was the lack of wifi drivers for my Atheros card. People who modified it to use a Dell wifi card had no issues on startup. I simply loaded in drivers for XP and they worked like a charm.

If so you had to install Vista on the AA1 1st then upgrade it to Windows 7??

I got the official beta.
I installed XP previously. The machine itself came with Linpus but I needed to run some Windows software.

All hardware was detected and software (ie. photoshop, microsoft office, etc...) seems to be compatible. Although I have heard that some programs cannot run on 7. Did not run into any major problems yet.

After a litle bit of use, glitches have started to pop up and wmp12 is a big one..
I gave up streaming video to my 360 from it because it simply would not add videos.. i tried everything and I could not get a video to add to my library...
and music.. well i cant get it to stop adding files.. whenever i change the info so its organized wmp12 will add the files again and re-unorganize them.. even after i apply the changes.
and i get a bluescreen on a certain link on youtube.. everytime its realy weird
SO i would not recomend this as your primary os.. but its def. fun to play arround in.

Been using it for awhile now.. 64bit version. Stable.. Very fast. Has WMP problems but hey it's a beta. I just use MPC for now. All my hardware works with just Vista64 drivers just fine.

Just installed it on my AA1, seems kind of laggy when opening stuff.
And my wireless worked till I did the updates, now it doesn't work anymore.

Its something called "old dogs dont learn new tricks" thats why ppl keep complaining and wont switch to anything higher than Windows XP.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Vista nor Windows 7. Windows 7 made usability so much quicker and faster than Vista or any other older platforms.
Startup and shutdown time for me is almost instant. Im running on Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz 4GB Ram and shit onboard video card on my laptop.
Hibernation mode is definitely fixed on Windows 7, because Vista it sometimes never wakes up and stays black.
I haven't come upon any noticable glitches yet and when you crashed, everything reboots inside windows...so you wont be missing shit on your taskbar and icons on your taskbar.
I press less then 5 keys to install windows 7 which took about 1hr 15min on 32-Bit. it was way faster on my friend's 64-bit machine.
