| Downloading textbooks?
Anyone know any sites where you can download textbooks. I've been told by class-mates that its possible to download .pdf documents online, but I'm having trouble finding them? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Looking for accounting textbooks.
Fundamental of Management by Robbins, DeCenzo, and Stuart-Kotze 2004
Marketing by McGraw-Hill, Ryersen 2006
Thanks hopefully somebody has some ideas. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to pay for textbooks for a couple weeks.

I used to buy textbooks, photocopy them back-to-back, then return the books.
Yes, it is time-consuming, but you get to save some money in the end.
How much would the downloading cost, anyway?

I was told you could download them off torrents. So far I've found one of the books, but with 0 seeds.

Open book exams are the worst.
One time I just borrowed a book at the SFU library for the whole semester. lol

Saved me over $180. One thing that factored in when I decided not to buy the books besides the price is the prof decided she didn't want to offer the course for a long time after, thus I'd have no buyers after the semester. Easy decision for me.

i always thought photocopying textbooks is pretty much a waste of your time, unless it's liek a small study guide or lab manual.
Just buy used books, and keep it in the same condition. Then when you're finished the semester, sell it for the same price that you bought it for. You save yourself money that way.
As for d/l textbooks..you can buy them from the publisher's website for sometimes 1/2 the price you usually pay for the hard cover. I know Elsevier does this.

if not on your torrent site...
1) goto google
2) put exact (maybe partial) book title in quotes; then type 'rapidshare' or $$$$$$$$$$, or easyshare (or the name of any other file storage site) (you can even try searching within the rapidshare site alone for any string of words resembling your text's title by googling [site:rapidshare.com "texts title"] << try rapidshare.de as well too)
3) search. (doing this, you might find alot of good blogspot sites that have your types of books for download too)

| Buy the international edition of the textbooks!!! the only difference is that the textbook is softcover instead of hardcover (sometimes the cover looks different), but the content is exactly identical...
I've sold back a couple international edition textbooks and ended up making money from them..

yeah, charging fucking roughly 175 for a text is highway robbery.
especially when international edtions will sell for less than half of that, and it has the exact some content.
fuck'in degenerates eh?

My prof encouraged us to buy one copy, get one person to scan it, and distribute it to the class.
He also doesn't believe in giving anything lower than a B.

cheapest douchebags around
i bet you all drive pretty nice cars, but aren't willing to buy a $100 textbook - regardless if they're a rip off, buy them 2nd hand for $60...
i've always liked to actually own textbooks, and sell them on if i don't want to keep them... i guess thats what comes from not being an absolute cheap bastard

it's not just ONE $100 textbook, but the accumulation of the other books that we need... and that empties out our wallets!

And sorry again for the SFU bookstore selling my English book for $51 when the book reads "$7.99 CDN" on the back.
