Your new 60" 1080p 120Hz HDTV just became obsolete.

its not obsolete until 3dtv is mainstream or at least available to consumers.

probably another 4-5 years before ppl have this in their homes if its only commercially available in 2011.

I have a 120hz Sony XBR4. I don't really notice any issues watching movies with it.

There's an option to toggle 120Hz mode.

3DTV is like you get sucker punched or smoke a pound of weed in front of a TV.

there's a 3D LCD TV demo at the train station near my place. The picture looks so fucked up and make you feel so dizzy.

^ it's no different from watching IMAX 3D without glasses, but in WAAAY smaller screen

I am not sure if the one I see is the same technology as the LG one...I need to stand
right in front of the TV (can't be at an angle) to make it looks perfect and the contrast/brightness
is quite low for no reason.

120hz looks good once you get used to it.
and i would guess the 3D TV would need programming and movies that support it.

120Hz is a gimmick. You are watching a FAKE image. The microprocessor in the TV is making interim frames.

It would be different if the SIGNAL was actually broadcast with a higher framerate.

I tihnk 3DTV's will only really be used at tradeshows and stuff to showcase products in 3D, I don't see it being very practical for watching movies and such. it's still wicked cool tho.
