| You are young and get your gf pregnant, what would you do?
So you are 22, your gf is 20. You and your gf are hopefully getting married in the future and starting a family after maybe 5 years after finishing school and getting a job.
The guy is in his 3nd year of post secondary and the girl is in her second year.
You get your gf pageant accidentally, even using protection. You both freak out. She doesn't believe in abortion and doesn't want to lose the baby. She thinks her family will kick her out if she has a baby at that age, but they won't.
What would you do in this situation?
My gf asked me this before so I ask the question on RS to spark some discussion. This is a serious question!
Guys, what would you do if you were the guy.
Girls, what would you do if you were the girl?

i'm going to be realistic here and as much as my young heart would want that baby....i don't think i would be able to give it the life it deserves when i can't even take care of myself financially and physically at 20.
a baby is not a toy/prop/dog for someone to carry around in their purse. this is a living, breathing human being that needs to eat, cry, soil his/her diapers, be taught how to be a person etc etc.
my sister is 27 (with a career, husband, the works) with a 10 month old girl. even though she's a grown up, i can see the stress and amount of work she has to put into my niece. now imagine 100x the stress a 20 year old who is still living with her parents and in school would have to go through.

id say abortion but odds are that the girl would abort it without me ever knowing and just bring it up during a fight to guilt me. of course, she wouldnt know it would make me angry to the point of almost hitting her.....or maybe she would. you ladies can be a strange bunch.

its really unfair and unfortunate when this happens and its unexpected/un-warranted, especially for the girl.. and quite the burden on her half because of nature..
but for guys: look her in the eyes and ask her does she know what shes getting herself into when its a no to abortion.
like mentioned above, at the age of 20, do you really think a young couple is ready to give a new life the life it deserves and still manage to move forward themselves, especially when they haven't even hit the prime of their own lives?

To raise a kid now vs back then is harder imho. Just because of what the society expects, what the kids needs now are.
Try not having any eletronics while your entire class got them. In the 70's ppl didn't have that much of a need for them.

Put a loonie at the top of the stairs..... when she's goes to pick it up...... ooops.
On a serious note though.... shit happens the only thing you can do is try to find a solution that is mutually agreeable and go from there. Any decision can be the right decision if you make the effort to make it right. Its a very broad question though because it depends on alot of factors. Family help could make a situation like this extremely bearable but on the flipside going it alone could be suffocating.
Berz out.

At this age, I would say they should keep the child... Over 20 years old, they should really work together with their family and get the emotional, financial, and childcare support they need to bring this life into the world...
If they were like 15 and 16, then I would say they should consider an abortion, because of the maturity level and the impact that having a child would have on them...
20-22 is still young to have a child, but not like OMG young like 15... I think they could do it

at 22, i'd go for the abortion route - i was still in uni, as the situation states... but if she refused abortion (her right to do so), i'd keep it - i'm man enough to take care of my responsibilities (ironic to say, after initially saying abortion)
now at 26, even though i don't want kids, i earn enough, have completed all the schooling i need (have a designation) and my career is on the right track, i could support us all quite well, so having the kid would be hte first option, abortion if she wants it (gf is actually 22 now, and is 9 monhts from her designation... so it'd be 100% he choice)
everyone should really think about hte consequences of their actions, you don't want to attend pageants! (look at the sp. mistake from the OP)

If I was the guy ... I let the girl decide, after all it's her body, it’s her choice to do what she wants with it.
But If I was in this situation, I'll definitely have an abortion. I’m not capable of taking care of another life. I still want to have fun and monthly bills / changing diapers are the last thing on my mind.
Then again, I know a girl who gave birth when she was 17, her S.O. took responsibility and now they are a happy family of 4. Sometimes things work out =]

Abortion. If she's against it and you're not, you are destined to have issues anyway. Because she is highly religious and you're not. Either that, or convert to her religion and go along with it.
