For Q credit take CPSC 1040 or 1050.
1040 is easiest. 1050 has a bit more chicks.

BaoTurbo 09-15-2011 11:31 PM

Stan Copp. I took him in the summer. All I did was smoke, facebook/RS in class, and chill with friends the whole semester. Uber chill guy if you can get the jist of the course like how it relates to real life forensics.

Got a B in the class because he also put in a Optional Midterm Essay to eliminate your worse mid term mark. Final is a take home essay paper. You go home, do the paper, print it out, go to school and hand it in. Then walk out like a boss in 5 minutes.

oh dang I have Sharon Tokar, pretty chill so far lol labs are easy as hell but a bit nervous bout tests LOL not a good test taker at all

BaoTurbo 09-17-2011 05:33 PM

The body parts? Bones? They actually re-occur later in the course because you have to identify what you are looking at or what you found. That's the hardest part pretty much.

For Stan Copp there wasn't much actual specific forensics on tests like math and "please identify this bone and this one" but more APPLIED and real life generalization. More like questions like "You arrive on the scene of a dead person. Now use all your knowledge in class to determine Cause of death, Time of death, Age at death, Ancestry, evidence, and how about will you do these procedures in." Well pretty much we had to tell all that in an essay and he just marks on how well you actually carry out the procedures, which is more towards the end of the course. On the first one its usually body parts, bones, and osteology. Then later its procedures, osteology, dentology, and more applied forensics.

someone needs to compile a grand list of good/easy teachers.

ill start:

Debra Scott - CMNS 1115 Interpersonal Communications - Super easy class, no homework. Great teacher. You just wing speeches. Got an A ;)

BaoTurbo 09-18-2011 05:21 PM

Problem is, it will get lost in the pages. Good idea is to make friends and then ask them :)

To write all of that in an essay sounds hard. For our midterm, I think were digging up an actual crime scene. Right now, they buried a bunch of fake skeletons with evidence. Seems fun since the conditions are undetermined. Are the essays in-class or take home?

true but I skimmed through the whole thread since 2009 :fuckyea:

BaoTurbo 09-18-2011 06:41 PM

^ Too much time on your hands :suspicious: lol

The essays are take home but the questions asked on the midterms on procedures are paragraphs. Yes I know that pit, I was there first and Stan Copp was the one that wanted us to do it but our class time was already in the middle of the course already and he can't get it set up in time. I met him up a couple times and he said the pit is getting set up already with gravel and skeletons but I never knew they were in use already. Pretty fast, but I can bet you this will give you guys a more hands on experience ESPECIALLY if you have a chick in mind you want to get to closer with :hotbaby:
