G35 or 325CI

So.. I am planning to buy my first car around the end of September.
Long ways away from now but i would like some opinions on both these cars.
I have narrowed my chioices from a Evo to an A4 and came to a conclusion that i want either a G35 or 325CI both coupe.
My budget is around 20-40g.
I still haven't decided what year for both but I was thinking about 06 for G35 and 05 for 325CI.
Err, I hope this this right section, if not could someone move it. :D

Kang19 01-19-2009 01:37 AM

325ci

threezero 01-19-2009 01:40 AM

i say g35, just because i have an infiniti and i love it.

ShanghaiKid 01-19-2009 02:20 AM

can't deny the beemer quality.. but the infiniti is also about the luxury and its also got the bigger engine compared to a 325

my personal preference would be the g35, simply because its a beautiful car bone-stock, its sexy exhaust note, appealing interior and a satisfyingly powerful car by itself

death_blossom 01-19-2009 02:38 AM

if maintenance costs are a concern, the G35 would be a better choice.

CharlieH 01-19-2009 06:08 AM

dude, drive both and im confident that you'll pick the g35. 287hp > 184 lol

they're both fine if you're just cruising around but if you're looking to do any sort of spirited driving, then the 325 won't get you anywhere. and imo, the e46 doesn't look good unless it's an m3. and like shanghai kid said, the g35's exhaust note is so sexy. whereas the 325 pretty much has no exhaust note lol

Mugen EvOlutioN 01-19-2009 07:03 AM

287 hp vs 184hp? gee hard question..

ummmm 287hp?

duhhh

6insomnia9 01-19-2009 07:05 AM

How is the room for the backseats on both of the cars?
Lmao.. Mugen EvOlutioN, maybe I'm not into the power but the luxury. :P

than wat he said

the G coupe definitely has a nice curves from every angle bone stock espeically with the sport package deck lid wing. better than the 3 series imo, exhaust note is good. The back room is fairly roomy, not sure about the 3

6insomnia9 01-19-2009 07:28 AM

What year did they stop making the G35? 2007?
Automatic or Manual btw.
Wow, every year they just keep slapping on HP on the G35 lmao.
Hmmm I am leaning towards the G35 so far but lets take aside the engine from both cars which car would you desire then?

still the g35. if the 325 doesn't come with the m-sport package then it's ugly as hell. and even if it does, it still doesn't look as good as the g35 with sport package.

facelifted 330ci with m-performance package. looks the same as 325ci with msport except for the bigger wheels.

g35c with sport package.

i've sat in the back of a 330ci before. not much room, but very similar to a g35.

PNF 01-19-2009 07:43 AM

If this is a car that you will keep for only 3-5 years and have plans to upgrade in 3-5 years..

G35!

But you will not regret the handling of the 325Ci, although it is a little bit under-powered and 325Ci maintenance is also much higher.

Get the G35, save for a few more years, and go for the 335i! (or the new F30 based 335/340/3xx)

6insomnia9 01-19-2009 08:08 AM

^ Yea , I am aiming to keep my first car for a few years , 5 years max.
The 325Ci looks sexy but so does the G35 Lol.
Alpha White with Black interior or Black on Black?

G35c with sport package.

+1

325i interior space reminds me of a corolla, and is almost as slow as one too haha. I drove my bro's 05 325i a few times. Car is pretty lame, i would never buy one, g35 interior feels a bit cheap with all the plastic, and center console design leaves much to be desired. Having said that, if i were to choose, g35 would still be a winner.

my thoughts exactly

HP isnt everything, but it is something when u are tryin to merge or spirit drive once inawhile and the car isnt going anywhere.

i really cant see myself driving in a car that weighs 1550kg roughly with only 184hp. The G35 on the hand has decent torque, auto or manual doesnt matter, the center dash is filled with lots of silver plastic, earlier gen has no silver trim. G37 on the other hand the interior is night and day difference vs the the 35. U mentioned ur budget is around $40g max? maybe u might be able to find a used 37 for around $45g ? i dunno

illict 01-19-2009 09:22 AM

I was thinking about the G37 but I rather not spent like 40+ for my first car.
I was thinking about the 350z as well but it doesn't look as good as a G35 in my eyes.
I was going to get an IS250 or Audi A4 2009 model before but i didn't want to buy a new car since i doubt i would be able to pay for the insurance and shit since i'm still attending school.

Renthal 01-19-2009 09:36 AM

I'd take the G35...
I've driven a G35X AWD, 4 door, black on black..
for sure go with black on black

vo_hantu 01-19-2009 10:26 AM

G35!!

Jackygor 01-19-2009 10:55 AM

G35 because its amazingly sex...and it stays classy when you mod it!

cococly 01-19-2009 10:56 AM

The E46 3-series are betting looking than the G35s in my opionion.

Some 3series were not made in Germany, so watch out.

NashMan 01-19-2009 11:07 AM

i just got e46 325ci

i find it sexy as hell love the hole car the m aero package and sport package clear tail's clear side markers

the reg modle i hate to hell cause umm looks so corney

i have driven both cars and i far like the bmw better in it's handleing cumfort and it much longer power band and better gas milage

only down fall it's under powered

and the stably control can not be turn off fully have to got to dealer so they can kill it for you if you a drifter master or what ever

thous are my old down side's of the car

but fi power it what you are after get it bigger brother 330ci same car just bigger motor 3liter instead of the 2.5

and 227 hp if remmber right in 02

fetched 01-19-2009 11:08 AM

Both of their interiors look like crap, but G35 wins with that sexy exhaust note.

+1 on the interior of the G37, one of my deciding factor for the purchase of my infiniti.

but i doubt you will find a 37 in your price range

tonyvu 01-19-2009 11:54 AM

BMW overprices everything.... my buddy's 335i coupe just had a service done to it; bill was around 200 before taxes... For your moneys worth i'd rather get a G35.
