Just pick who you feel more comfortable with. Guile is bottom tier and does shit damage and I seem to do fine with him. ;) Just get good with whoever you end up picking and tiering would be the last thing you worry about, unless you're playing against a sagat who actually knows what they're doing. lol

kazuki 05-23-2009 06:49 PM

Moo Man 05-23-2009 07:08 PM

haha it wasnt that bad, your boxer had some pretty neat tricks too. I hate eating heatbutt > ultra. lol

liu13 05-23-2009 07:09 PM

you guys are newbs, there is no such thing as cheap, cheap is a term used for ppl who aren't skilled enough to rumble

Razor Ramon HG 05-25-2009 03:37 PM

Ah man, I need a stick soon. It's difficult to play on the X360 analog. Would you guys recommend the Hori EX2 or the SF4 SE stick? I'm probably going to upgrade the button and stick on them too.

Moo Man 05-25-2009 05:30 PM

if you're upgrading the buttons and stick I'd say just go with whatever's cheaper. :)

Razor Ramon HG 05-25-2009 10:49 PM

Okay, I settled on the EX2 since the SE went OOS again on Amazon, fuck, ahah. What upgrades would you guys recommend? Or should I wait for my EX2 first and play with it?

Moo Man 05-26-2009 02:59 AM

Just play with the EX2 for a while first, unless you're super anal about the buttons and such. that way when you upgrade later on you will feel the difference, that along is already a huge level up in your skill lvl. :D:D

skholla 05-26-2009 08:22 AM

play with it, like it for a while, hate it, replace buttons, like it again, replace joystick, love it!

Meowjin 05-27-2009 01:28 PM

i want a joystick now.

where can i buy one right now and what should i buy for the ps3

kazuki 05-27-2009 08:19 PM

hey skholla do the sanwa buttons make that much of a difference?

I have the regular hrap3 and Im still trying to get used to the stick comming from pad

Razor Ramon HG 05-28-2009 08:44 PM

Thanks, I think I'll get the EX2 when I get a chance then. But damn, I've been playing as Blanka the past hour, and he's really hard to beat. I need to work on his special moves though, I can't seem to execute it correctly.

YES, for me the buttons made a huge difference, night and day for sure... and im not even a current arcade player, i cant remember the last time i was at an arcade but i used to spend all my money on games from the SF2 era to SFIII 3rd strike.

the standard HRAP buttons move around alot, they are kind of thick and bulky, also they are not very responsive, you have to really press on them hard when doing 3 button moves (ultras). i found that if it didnt or if i was not very precise with my finger tips then only 2 of the 3 buttons would register.

my next mod is going to be the joystick. i cant justify buying a new and stiffer stick to put inside my HRAP3 as i have spent enough on it already so i can going to mod it. im going to do a spring mod, that means doubling up on the springs that keep the joystick centered or using a single stiffer spring from a different joystick. this mod will give the stick a more controlled feeling so it wont feel as loose.

I know someone who's trying to sell off his TE stick right now if you don't mind paying for the top tier stuff. :p

Razor Ramon HG 05-29-2009 10:14 AM

Jesus christ, I hate playing those fucking Ryu's that just keep jumping to the edge of the map and doing hadouken.

Meowjin 05-30-2009 01:31 PM

I love them. So predictable. EX hooligan throw, then spin arrow or grab.

Amuse 06-10-2009 10:00 PM

Planning to pick up a new Hori fighting stick 3 for $80
Is this any good for SF4 on PS3? Not planning to spend more than $100 on a fight stick.

Any other suggestions?

where?

Seriously what stores sell these things?

bobyu 06-13-2009 12:21 AM

after a while u get used to Dpad, you kinda want to leave the stick behind.

The bad thing is, you cant go to espot to own ppl

Razor Ramon HG 06-13-2009 08:19 PM

I've been using the analog stick on the X360 for the past couple of weeks. I think it'll be an easy transition to stick later on because I won 7 games in a row last night at CHQ.

Oshin 06-14-2009 01:28 AM

anyone want to get few games going? add my psn Oshin_inc I'm usually on at night time.

Razor Ramon HG 06-19-2009 07:10 PM

Before I started Championship Mode, I thought I was good. Now I'm constantly frustrated.
