Yeah if you drive like a suzuki swift/geo metro with a 1cm thick steering wheel. the metal in my r32's steering wheel is like 2" 14guage bar or something lol its heavy on its own.

I dunno what kind of bolt cutters you have that will fit around a steering wheel.....

Steering wheel is not soft...there's a reason why they don't fold over when you hold onto them in a crash lol

The main purpose of a steering wheel lock is to be a visual deterrant, rather than a physical force.

My steering lock wouldnt come unlocked late one night in the police station parking lot. I had to get someone to bring down an axe and hack-saw and ended up sawing through the steering wheel. It really doesn't take long What a sketchy looking scene though at 2am... hah

don't buy it

it hooks around the spokes, so it's straight across the airbag/hub for me.

some people are saying you can cut through the steering wheel rim... the locksmith that came said the 4-hook setup i had made that impossible, because the thickest part of the rim is where it meets the spokes.

he also said those brake pedal locks are a pain in the ass... not that they are ineffective, but because he's had to take off so many defective ones

the idea behind any anti theft device is this:

thief sees 2 cars he might steal. one has club/ alarm/ big black dude sitting in the back, the other car has none.

they will always go for the easier target, unless of course big black dudes are his thing...

I've seen at least a couple crash photos where the top of the wheel is bent forward due to a person's weight during a crash.

nope. went yesterday to the store and no one i dealt with was working that day. master lock didn't return my email, which i was directed to send after calling the 1-800 number. pretty much given up.
