Why did you go Euro?

Lets face it. They're not as reliable, efficient and a lot of other things that other more affordable cars are. So what was your reason?

i bought my old one because for the money you get way more bang for the buck and because just cause depreciation is a bitch for someone else it doesnt mean i shouldn't get a deal. and handling. and i wanted to have the first thread. so why did you go euro? poll coming later.

kc1337 01-26-2009 11:11 AM

Because they are reliable, efficient and affordable!

maxx 01-26-2009 11:12 AM

lol, a question like that on Revscene...

cause they are the best.

p.s. this is a techical forum, not a place to tell me your vtech kicked in

Amaru 01-26-2009 11:20 AM

Because I like replacing window regulators.

...And because I like feeling like I own a REAL car and not a hunk of plastic.

maxx 01-26-2009 11:27 AM

they fixed that issue in the facelifted model :)

p.s. join the Euro lovers social group

kc1337 01-26-2009 11:28 AM

Isn't this the type of question where it usually goes, "Why did you buy a $220 000 Ferrari when I could use that amount of money on my Civic and go faster?"

BoneThug 01-26-2009 11:57 AM

no this is the places where that convo never has to happen. cause no one here has a civic. well, not as opposed to some other 5 second car. nothing wrong with a dd

skyxx 01-26-2009 01:08 PM

Ve hav r vaysss!!!!

DD//M3 01-26-2009 03:13 PM

Probably we put up with it because we like the way it handles and feels.

I also compared costs on owning a Bimmer with my brother inlaw's Honda and we pretty much spent the same amount of money maintaining our cars. So now he owns one too!

q0192837465 01-26-2009 03:16 PM

Because we like how solid they are.

skyxx 01-26-2009 04:15 PM

^ That's what she said....

bcedhk 01-26-2009 05:21 PM

just compare a basic accord with basic 3 series. the accord, although the seat is comfy, the engine is weaker, sounds louder, and u hear more outside noise. but a 328i, the steering is tighter, suspension feels a lot better and more quiet, + less wind noise

slammer111 01-26-2009 05:49 PM

Steering wheel doesn't feel like it's about to fall off.

CharlieH 01-26-2009 05:49 PM

cuz it drives/looks better than the competition.

kchan 01-26-2009 07:14 PM

had a s2000, drives wonderful, but no torque and not enough power...
wanted to improvise :)
and i found its german brother
bmw Z4 !

hk20000 01-26-2009 08:17 PM

I own one coz it's just the kind of car that oil massages you during the whole trip of your daily commute.

hmmmmm oil massage.

oh I have a Mercedes btw BMWs need not apply.

BoneThug 01-26-2009 09:18 PM

pre 05 bmw> most mercs

at least for being fun to drive

maxx 01-26-2009 09:23 PM

that is still how it is. bimmers were always sportier than mercs.

MB is for cruising and plushin in the seats.
Bimmer is for when your hair is on fire.

DD//M3 01-27-2009 09:42 AM

I still remember driving my first Bimmer, a 1990 535i 4door. I was coming from a succession of non-handling cars. I had a Cal look bug I modded to be pretty quick (2.1L motor approx 180 Hp) and I also had a 1989 5.0L Notchback Mustang that was heavily modifed which I tracked...800lb front springs anyone? hehe Daily driver...

Anyways, I could not believe how good the steering was, to have such feel for the road and the brakes! It was a revelation to say the least. I was all about the power but I discovered the handling instead!

People who have driven lots of cars understand where I am coming from...

fetched 01-27-2009 02:55 PM

I don't wanna feel like i'm flying when i'm going over 120km

bcrdukes 01-27-2009 03:42 PM

Wanted a classic car designed and built with soul and passion.

But somehow, not always the most reliable unlike its Japanese counterparts. :p

Then again, I'd say my Alfa is a lot more different compared to all the Benz/BMWs/VWs/Audi's out there. :(

Edit: Same goes for my Vespa. Feels and rides more solid with a better motor and looks. The Jazz was all plastic and felt like I was going to die all the time.

BoneThug 01-27-2009 03:46 PM

pics? or soemone should start a post your euro thread
