Why did you go Euro?

Lets face it. They're not as reliable, efficient and a lot of other things that other more affordable cars are. So what was your reason?

i bought my old one because for the money you get way more bang for the buck and because just cause depreciation is a bitch for someone else it doesnt mean i shouldn't get a deal. and handling. and i wanted to have the first thread. so why did you go euro? poll coming later.

Because I like replacing window regulators.

...And because I like feeling like I own a REAL car and not a hunk of plastic.

Isn't this the type of question where it usually goes, "Why did you buy a $220 000 Ferrari when I could use that amount of money on my Civic and go faster?"

Probably we put up with it because we like the way it handles and feels.

I also compared costs on owning a Bimmer with my brother inlaw's Honda and we pretty much spent the same amount of money maintaining our cars. So now he owns one too!

just compare a basic accord with basic 3 series. the accord, although the seat is comfy, the engine is weaker, sounds louder, and u hear more outside noise. but a 328i, the steering is tighter, suspension feels a lot better and more quiet, + less wind noise

that is still how it is. bimmers were always sportier than mercs.

MB is for cruising and plushin in the seats.
Bimmer is for when your hair is on fire.

I still remember driving my first Bimmer, a 1990 535i 4door. I was coming from a succession of non-handling cars. I had a Cal look bug I modded to be pretty quick (2.1L motor approx 180 Hp) and I also had a 1989 5.0L Notchback Mustang that was heavily modifed which I tracked...800lb front springs anyone? hehe Daily driver...

Anyways, I could not believe how good the steering was, to have such feel for the road and the brakes! It was a revelation to say the least. I was all about the power but I discovered the handling instead!

People who have driven lots of cars understand where I am coming from...

Wanted a classic car designed and built with soul and passion.

But somehow, not always the most reliable unlike its Japanese counterparts.

Then again, I'd say my Alfa is a lot more different compared to all the Benz/BMWs/VWs/Audi's out there.

Edit: Same goes for my Vespa. Feels and rides more solid with a better motor and looks. The Jazz was all plastic and felt like I was going to die all the time.
