Tim Hortons coffee is for people who don't like real coffee, plain and simple, it so creamed up that of course it tastes good.
if you like real coffee then you would go to a local shop (artigiano's, jj bean, ect)
for now, SB is everywhere, so of course everyone drinks it but McD's coffee is actually really good too.
FYI, at sb take your mug and it is usually $1.65 (after tax) which isn't too bad considering thats usually between a grande and venti size.

It's like, uhh, if i cook for myself, I could spend $3 on a meal instead of $15 @ Earls. Or if i goto subway, i can spend $3 on the sub of the day instead of wasting my time doing it myself. Quote:
Even with just buying the brew coffee at Starbucks for $1.50...
That's $1.50 for ONE cup of coffee.
For 10 bucks you can buy a bag of GOOD coffee beans and brew 50 cups of coffee.
| Hmm.. I'm pretty ghetto, but not ghetto enough to carry a coffee machine on my back to save a buck .

Im very guilty of spending ridiculous amounts of money on tim hortons and starbucks coffee. I dont smoke or do any drugs and hardly drink so its a livable but expensive vise.
That $5 a day adds up fast.

Hmm.. I'm pretty ghetto, but not ghetto enough to carry a coffee machine on my back to save a buck . | It's easy to make a starbucks quality cup of coffee at home.
It's not as easy to make a Earls quality dinner at home. (Unless you really know how to COOK).
The other difference, humans HAVE to eat. They don't HAVE to drink coffee.

If you have think that cutting down on your coffee consumption is going to make a difference in your financial planning, I'd say you have bigger things to worry about.

Timmies had that muffin/coffee combo for $1.97 for a while... how come they got rid of it! I don't appreciate paying $2.39

Whoever drinks Lattes/Fraps everyday is going to get a heart attack sooner or later. I'm an avid coffee drinker and at most, I have a latte once every couple of weeks. If I need espresso, I have a two or three-shot Americano. Americanos at Artigiano cost $2.60 - not exactly a huge expense. There are worse ways to spend your pocket change, like lottery tickets or cigarettes.
Sure, you could make coffee at home, but a lot of people like the convenience and/or an excuse to leave the office for 15 minutes that a coffee shop provides. Besides, if I wanted to make coffee at the office properly, I would need a french press, a grinder, and some premium beans (none of which my office has).

If you're referring to caffeine content, then a latte has less than a similarly sized brewed coffee Or do you believe this to be a milk issue?

The big question is, if more Starbucks get shut down, where will all the people with white Macbooks go?

put that effort into saving money on your multi-hundred dollar and thousand dollar items, then you'd be a fool to pinch on $1 items that give you value for basically no cost, IMO.

Soooo, apparently an old coworker of mine told me that Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks is going to take a $1 million dollar pay cut to save money for the company leaving him with a salary of $10,000. Well this is coming from the district manager.
Holy crap a normal barista working full time would make more than what he would be 'earning'
But wow, did the previous heads of the company screw up with the over expansion.
