tundra or f350 diesel?

lowered tundra or lifted f350 diesel what would you buy? lifted f350 seems like it would be a real pain in the ass for parking. they're both pretty similar in price once they have all the options.

350 because its diesel

i drive a 150 myself, not that i regret buying a 150 but if money isn't an option then i prefer to buy a diesel

threezero 02-04-2009 02:30 PM

you should get another murcielago and that custom mod it into a pick up

Timpo 02-04-2009 02:31 PM

they're in different class, are they actually comparable?

Timpo 02-04-2009 02:34 PM

oh but I'd say Tundra just because it's faster, just put the TRD supercharger on it. :)

The supercharger will give you 504hp, 550lb-ft and BETTER GAS MILAGE!!

also you can find a lot of TRD Tundra videos on youtube.

Two completely different trucks and they are not comparable.

I've sold at a Toyota store and I now sell at a Ford store, I know them both pretty well.

The Tundra is comparable to an F150. The F250/350/450 are the big trucks that have an optional diesel. (the F150 does not come in diesel)

If you want a new baller black gansta look truck, I'd suggest an '08 Chip Foose, '09 F150FX4, Lariat, or Platinum, or maybe a F350 harley if you really want to be a high roller. The new '09 Harleys have an awesome blue flame instead of last year's gold stripe. Most of the Harleys are also short boxes and come with park assist and rear view camera to make parking easy. The F350 is not that much longer than a Tundra or F150 unless you get the 8' box.

Let me know if you want more details.

a lowered 2wd tundra is a useless piece of shit.

I would use the lifted F350.

for being a complete poser tho, the F350 will get you more points but every fucking douche bag will already have one. at least the tundra will be sort of different.

RRxtar 02-04-2009 03:03 PM

if you are buying an F150 wait until the 2010 model year when the new engines come.

Adsdeman 02-04-2009 03:16 PM

Slammed tundra i dont have a tiny penis!

my buddy just bought a blue harley f350 with blue flame. I got him a deal through dams langley. I originally had no plans of buying an f350 and was set on picking up a tundra but after being in his (and driving it) I'm interested in knowing more. I don't want to get a harley version myself I like the look of the king ranch but hate the interior so I would just go with a lariat fx4 package. the 08 chip foose truck is out of the question it is the old body style. I checked out the new f150 at dams while we were picking up his truck and they were pretty nice but tundra > f150 all day long. what store do you sell from? i can usually get fleet pricing through dams though while I don't really know anyone that works at toyota so the discount won't be as big...therefore from a price point perspective a limited crew cab tundra fully loaded will probably cost me right around the price I can pick up a loaded lariat f350 for...and that is why in my books these trucks are comparable. The truck has to be a 4x4 not 2 wheel drive. I'll never really use it to any extreme just for an occasional load of wood from dicks lumber or taking my dog somewhere lol

Rich Sandor 02-04-2009 03:45 PM

Fleet pricing doesn't really mean anything anymore, people just say it to get a deal. What matters is how much you are paying over dealer invoice.

If you want an F350, and are paying cash (or getting your own financing) look for an '08. They are pretty much exactly the same as '09's, but have HUGE cash discounts on them. For example we have a dark green/gold '08 F350 King Ranch that was $75,000 and is now $55,000. Can't beat that deal. I'm at Cam Clark in North Van.

reliability.. i pick tundra because its just better and its been proven against the 150. when i work many of my fellow tradesmen like the tundra better than the fords . I think they did a test on one of the magazines between the trucks... maybe i go find it.

but you cant compare the 350 with the tundra its a different class
you gotta do the tundra vs 150.

it all depends on how you use it for. baller status then go for something big but for work i go for tundra..

then again its my own opinion

the tundra did win Motor trend of the year 2008

Hondaracer 02-04-2009 04:01 PM

buy a diesel, dont lift it, and just grab the top model rims with some nice beefy rubber

fuck modding trucks, stock looks better then anything and performs as good as modded

but from your choices im asuming your going for mostly looks?

I love people who jack the fuck up out of their trucks, yet their differential is at the same height, if not lower then stock lol

slickk6o4 02-04-2009 04:24 PM

BoostNseveN 02-04-2009 04:39 PM

GordonTse 02-04-2009 06:44 PM

with the cars you already own, for that baller status of yours.. go with the f350. do a mild lift, and bigger tires.. looks kill!

edit: and the rims on the ford in the pics you posted are played out, i got a few buddies with them.

jigga250 02-04-2009 06:45 PM

Tundra, but lifted not lowered.

I drove a brand new F350 for a few months and it was a typical Ford POS. Starter seized with 2000km on it. Everything about it just felt so cheap. I guess its good if you're going to use it for a work truck or up north or something, cause you can beat the shit out of it and parts are cheap and plentiful, but I'm guessing thats not your intended use.

Also lifted 350's are dime a dozen, you rarely see a lifted Tundra.
