they have been talking about this for years...but most architechs said it is not really
feasible...the earlier design was a under-water tunnel from Xiamen to Taipei.

I still remember hyde was saying he would have four license plates on his car (china, hk,
taiwan, and macau), then people laughed at him cause the article was saying the tunnel
was for train only.

Isn't there a lot of fishing in that region? Pretty sure construction of a bridge that size would cause a lot of problems for the fishing industry.

of course chinese will build anything impossible...but don't expect it's going to be one single bridge links two shores.

if the HK/Macau/ZhuHai bridge (1/2 bridge, 1/2 tunnel design) is a success,
then taiwan <-> China bridge should be no problem.

I agree..but it's hard to forget the stories that I hear from my grandpa who was forced to serve in Kinmen under the ROC military regime.

The way i like it, people that invaded Taiwan after WWII could go back and keep the 1-China Policy to themselves.
