Taiwan considering building bridge to mainland China |
thats gonna be one long ass bridge i think. |
they have been talking about this for years...but most architechs said it is not really feasible...the earlier design was a under-water tunnel from Xiamen to Taipei. I still remember hyde was saying he would have four license plates on his car (china, hk, taiwan, and macau), then people laughed at him cause the article was saying the tunnel was for train only. |

Isn't there a lot of fishing in that region? Pretty sure construction of a bridge that size would cause a lot of problems for the fishing industry. |

if the HK/Macau/ZhuHai bridge (1/2 bridge, 1/2 tunnel design) is a success, then taiwan <-> China bridge should be no problem. |
for shizzy |
It will happen when China becomes ROC |
^ Or the inevitable, Taiwan becoming PRC |
crossing an 8km bridge in an earthquake zone ftl |
hahahah that would be like a sim city natural disaster ONLY THIS IS REAL LIFE! |
ironic 4 decades ago the PRC was bombing the shit outta tiny military island of Kinmen |
4 decades is a very long time. Everything has changed bud! |
wouldn't that be cool if Taiwan and China unite under the old name ROC? I say remove that "people" in the official name makes it so much better sounding. I mean, "Repulic of China" sounds much better than "People's Republic of China" doesn it? doesn't that "people" just seem too wordy and toyish? |
wow must be a long ass bridge to get it from taiwan to china |
