they have been talking about this for years...but most architechs said it is not really
feasible...the earlier design was a under-water tunnel from Xiamen to Taipei.
I still remember hyde was saying he would have four license plates on his car (china, hk,
taiwan, and macau), then people laughed at him cause the article was saying the tunnel
was for train only.

Isn't there a lot of fishing in that region? Pretty sure construction of a bridge that size would cause a lot of problems for the fishing industry.

if the HK/Macau/ZhuHai bridge (1/2 bridge, 1/2 tunnel design) is a success,
then taiwan <-> China bridge should be no problem.

I say remove that "people" in the official name makes it so much better sounding.
I mean, "Repulic of China" sounds much better than "People's Republic of China" doesn it? doesn't that "people" just seem too wordy and toyish?
