Finally, Good news From Honda/Acura. TSX-V6

That's good news. Ignore the Unique front end, it's not a bad car with the 3.5L V6.

I have driven the 2009 6MT and it's a tortoise on wheel. Its 2.4L was TOO weak to pull the heavy body.

Quote:

The 2010 Acura TSX will now be available with a 280 horsepower 3.5L V6, which is most likely the same 3.5L offered in the Accord. When you check off the V6 option box you also get new 18" wheels, a slightly revised front fascia and a retuned suspension.

Unfortunately the TSX is still not available with the SH-AWD system that's offered on the TL and RL.

Acura claims that the 2010 TSX is the first of many changes for the 2010 model year, Acura plans on revising all of its models for the new year.

Interior
Like all Acura models, the new TSX will feature an exceptional level of standard equipment, including leather-appointed interior, power moonroof, automatic climate control, a premium seven-speaker sound system with CD, AM/FM tuner, XM® Satellite Radio, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® , USB port and AUX jack music interface and more

Powertrain
A new TSX powertrain choice means performance luxury buyers can enjoy a 280 horsepower 3.5L V-6, with sophisticated VTEC® valvetrain control and a dual-stage induction system. For maximum performance and efficiency, the engine will be coupled to Acura's Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, with intelligent features such as Grade Logic Control and Shift Hold Control. If the driver desires, the Sequential SportShift transmission can also be operated manually, via steering-wheel mounted F1®-style paddle shifters.

those rims aren't very nice.

they look very honda accordish.

LowTEC 02-11-2009 08:00 PM

Seems like they totally given up the TL and keep the TSX with this move, gj Honda

03aspec 02-11-2009 08:53 PM

Acura's 2009 line up=fail.. I'm disappointed

bossxx 02-11-2009 09:08 PM

I hate the little fender ridge. Reminds of a buick or some piece of shit.

ienhz 02-11-2009 09:13 PM

i'd still rather buy something else.

BlackV62K2 02-11-2009 09:16 PM

Who gives a shit. Just another shitty fwd honda/acura.

+1

That said no doubt this is good news for Acura. The TSX should've had this a long time ago. Rest of the lineup still terrible though.

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-11-2009 09:55 PM

not bad

i like the new power plant

slap on some JDM mugen grill and the front is set

Timpo 02-11-2009 10:07 PM

not a bad move, but Acura is still missing the V8.

and the V10 NSX.

Blinky 02-11-2009 10:09 PM

What's the point?

I don't see too much that differentiates this between the V-6 Accord, and the additional weight over the nose can't help what was the TSX's strongest trait. Appears to be slushbox only too.

cococly 02-12-2009 12:09 AM

^ TSX-V6 will be offered with a 6-speed manual.

Only the accord COUPE offers 6-speed manual.

tonyvu 02-12-2009 12:12 AM

2009 acura lineup= fail imo...

thumper 02-12-2009 06:30 AM

v6+fwd=torque steer?

any news on whether they are going to do plastic surgery for that fugly snout?

The marketing tripe usually mentions if a manual is available. I don't see said marketing tripe making any such claims here...

So the tsx is gonna be made in north america instead of japan...

Acura604 02-12-2009 10:54 AM

very nice! not too keen on the design though... IMO the 3rd Gen TL (specifically 07-08) is still the best looking acura to date.

Fail~ what's the point of a V6
waste a good K series engine
RDX I4 turbo should be there instead

if I want V6, I will get TL.

agreed, would have been lighter too in the relatively small car, and basically the same power

TSX with the 4cyl turbo and SH-AWD would be win. Would destroy the IS250 AWD and give a Japanese alternative to the 335xi.

true but... 1st gen TSX was already weighing around 14xx to 15xxkg which is the same weight as USDM V6 Accord

So weight wise? 4 banger or V6 is relative the same

Benz_05TSX 02-13-2009 03:02 AM

AHahhaa, sucks for the 09 TSX owners,. they only can get 2.4L w/ the 200 or so hp engine.

Now the new one has a V6....damn

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-13-2009 07:09 AM

not really

some ppl prefers to stay 4 banger to keep a decent gas milleage instead a V6
