They should issue a public statement that if the shooting occurs in broad daylight in a crowded area with civilians, the penalties will be doubled.
That way, the gang bangers can continue to eliminate themselves while keeping the risk of wrongfully shooting innocent people goes down; assuming they are compliant with the deal.

Rogue951 02-20-2009 07:11 AM

call them all out to BC place and just finish it all there.

hotjoint 02-20-2009 08:29 AM

i wish they made a designated war zone for the drugs dealers to kill each other off like they do for the crackheads in DTES.

Jason00S2000 02-22-2009 11:27 AM

Legalize it, put warning labels on drugs, educate people from a young age about drugs.

Drugs these days are so, so, so easy to get it's not even funny. I had a conversation with some friends this weekend, and there are several places downtown, apparently, where you can walk up and buy drugs practically like a venting machine.

I totally agree that there are too many crack and coke heads, I am in full agreement. One thing that would stop this would be if it were legalized, cheaper, and come with warning labels and education.

( I know a lot of you disagree, but at least we CAN agree that no amount of busts or even x2 more cops will stop this. Drugs CANNOT be stopped when the users want the product so bad, and there is massive, massive amounts of money to be made. )

jeffh 02-22-2009 11:36 AM

when i was in highschool it was 10 times easier to get pot than it was to get liquor. hell lots of dealers even deliver

2 years ago cocaine came into BC really easy because of a couple key figures. Those guys got busted. Now everyone is scratching their heads looking for ppl who have kgs. Little supply means obviously the price goes up. It costs double now. The ppl at the top are making half as much as they used to. Not to mention the increase in competition has fueled lower prices on the street, making it even worse for them. All these variables means that the only alternative to getting more money (the money they used to make) means eliminating a lot of your competition.. especially the smaller guys who jumped in when everything was cheap. In the real business world a corp might merge or buyout a competing business. But in this world, it means killing them.

This solution is ultimately one of their last resorts. I am pretty sure that nobody really wants to kill others but when you start losing a lot of money you aren't given much choice. IMO, the only way these shootings will stop is if we get more cocaine into our country so we can drive the price back down to what it was 2 years ago. Because 2 years ago ppl were happy. Competition existed but everyone made a lot of money so nobody was really getting squeezed. With the recent halt in imports and increase in smaller phones coming up, this was only bound to happen.

My solution prob sounds dumb to everyone but it's just what I think. I think that the more importers get busted, the more stress it brings to everyone else and it will increase violence. You have to understand that there will always be a market for this. And there is ALWAYS going to be NEW ppl emerging. New importers, new drivers, new middle guys. It's just a cycle.

The truth is, the police will never be able to stop the supply of drugs into this country. There are just too many other ppl out there wanting to bring it in. Their efforts as of late have been incredible for the communities. It has raised prices which in turn has increased violence by a tonne in your neighborhoods. They think that oh taking 10 kg's off the street will somehow impact us? It only does in a negative way.

Everything I said in this post is just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

dingidingidngidnigdnigdndg

also from what i hear alot of young guys trying to get in to make fast "easy" cash.

Dealers that don't deliver = get less business

Pot is far easier to get than liquor.

How come finding someone who will deliver liquor is near impossible?!?!

How come finding someone who makes homebrew and will deliver it is impossible?!!?!?

How come nobody gets shot over liquor sales?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?

because they'd be fucking with the biggest dealer, the govt.

and they'd get hit so fast they wouldnt make any money, just like ppl who sell cigarettes singles/packs they get busted so fast and have more ppl looking for them then drug dealers

theres a guy in the dtes that sells cigarettes by the singles and i swear i saw more police roaming the streets and questioning ppl about him than any drug dealer

also the penalty for selling liquor/cigarettes illegally is a lot worse, supposedly

+1

If you think of illegal, crazy harmful things, what has worked? How has anyone been able to stop any of it?

It takes literally years and years before someone on death row actually dies.

You must spend quite a bit of time walking on foot in the downtown eastside if you're able to see that Police are looking for a single smoke dealer rather than drug dealers...

Jason00S2000 02-23-2009 07:20 AM

Good thing BC NDP Leader Carole James has demanded more cops, more prosecuters to keep people in jail longer!!!

I mean, we can only look at other countries' success with tough drug laws and know we should adopt them.

The US has 1 out of 99 people behind bars, but thankfully that has nearly stopped the illegal drug trade.

Mexico has some of the toughest army units fighting the war on drugs and they are winning. There is peace and very little violence.

Good job to the NDP, change we can believe in!
