Stir the pot a little. Drive the car to school with the spare key. Hop in the trunk and wait until the guy drives off with you in the trunk of the car. Call the police and tell them you're location/car description and you just got car jacked and kidnapped!

Hopefully the guy doesn't open the trunk and see you, even if that happens you can just unleash the fury on his ass!

yoall 02-17-2009 08:13 PM

lets not forget, if the car key are together with the house keys.

They can get the home address from the insurance paper.

Thats an NO NO.

abinga 02-17-2009 08:20 PM

You pay me to watch your car in the parking lot. I will then attack whoever tries to get access and recover your keys. I will have two people watching and waiting. Let me know.

Aetios 02-17-2009 08:34 PM

Did your friend get a good look at the guy to at least recognize him if he sees him again.

He lost them at Langara and the guy that picked up the keys probably goes there as well, he might bump into him again around campus.

Have your friend draw a picture of what he looks like. lol.

your friend either runs way too slow, or is a pussy.

if someone tried to break into my fucking car with my own god damn keys...they would end up in the trunk, then dropped off in surrey in time for the latest shooting

HonestTea 02-17-2009 08:51 PM

I'd have to agree.

Your friend should have walked up casually pretending to go into a car next you his or a close by car and when close enough, tackle the mofo and beat the living shit out of him.

Oh and don't make eye contact until the very last moment. Otherwise you'll give it away.

jofo 02-17-2009 08:59 PM

install a bomb so when the guy tries to start it he get's blown to shit

InvisibleSoul 02-17-2009 09:04 PM

Since he has your keys, would that still be considered trying to 'break in'? I would say someone attempted to steal it.

ditch the old car, and buy a 91 honda civic or something:thumbsup:

jeffh 02-17-2009 10:37 PM

or you could do the obvious, phone your autoplan broker, check if its covered, get your locks changed and remote frequency reprogramed.

we do it all the time for people at honda that lose their keys/get them stolen.
its rare that icbc wotn pay.

or the other option is post about it on RS and wait for all the retards to post away some nonsense that doesnt actually solve the problem

your choice tho

yoall 02-17-2009 10:42 PM

sell the car.

Dont drive it to school for a few months. LOL

jing 02-17-2009 11:01 PM

Is it still considered "breaking in" when you fcked up and lost your own keys?

Vansterdam 02-17-2009 11:08 PM

thats fucked

Raid3n 02-17-2009 11:15 PM

for those asking if it is still illegal if he has the keys:

yes, it is still unlawful entry. did 'your friend' tell him he could go in his car and give him the keys? no? then its the same as going into some random person's house.

MelonBoy 02-17-2009 11:26 PM

next time you should hide under your car, so when the thief comes you just slash his heels with a knife so he cant run :)

or replace the locks. =p

Obviously it's still illegal... but just questioning whether "breaking in" is the right term here, since he wouldn't need to "break" in.

I'm not sure if it's considered "breaking in", but if you forget your keys somewhere and they get stolen, and later your vehicle is stolen, then you are still covered by ICBC (if they don't suspect any collusion). It happened to a relative of mine who left his keys in the bathroom at Capilano, went back and found they were stolen, and later his car was stolen and crashed.
