i got this email as well how do i use power boost? |
i think power boost kicks in when u download for the first 10 seconds or something now my net is upgraded downloading off BT at 770kb/s :D with shaw i use a ton of bandwidth about 300gb+ per month and never got charged or call from shaw |
Does it cost money to switch to a moto router? |
You heard this on revscene first 100Mbps downstream, 5Mbps upstream "High-Speed Nitro" 200GB cap $249.95 per month |
^ Heard about it few weeks ago. They are currently testing that service in Saskatchewan. :) Anyway, I wish Telus would auto upgrade our speeds... :/ |

http://www.speedtest.net/result/414654781.png so shaw is the way to go huh? i got a call the other day saying they bumped me up to 3MB/s ill try to redo this when i know noone else is on the network >< |
http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsServices/Internet/ It is free to swap to a Moto if you have Terayon. Bring it to the 3 stores in downtown, north van, or surrey. If you really really cant make it then call the tech helpline and they can send a tech to swap it. The reason why Terayon is slow because it is on an older network infrastructure compare to Moto. The company is now concentrating its resources on the latest DOCIS 3.0 network. And dont forget to bypass your router and firewalls if you want to test out your true speed. :) |

I noticed Shaw says up to 15mbps for Extreme. I'm on Telus and just checked their site and they now have their enhanced high speed and they list "10-15 mbps" which I'm assuming means I should get 10 as the minimum and may get up to 15. I used to be on Shaw, but too many assholes in my area hogging bandwidth so my connection was always slow. At least with Telus I always got the same speed, even though it was slower. I just signed up for the Telus Enhanced and I'll do some speed tests to see if I really get the "10-15 mbps" they claim. If not, then I'm going to switch back to Shaw and try their Extreme. Funny thing, Telus wants 50.95 per month for enhanced which is the same price Shaw lists for Extreme if you're not part of a bundle. And they both say 100GB limits and 15mbps top speed. That seems like quite the coincidence to me. :) |

Did you guys also get a new IP in the process? |
LOL@ I don't know why people still use telus when shaw seems to be providing a much better service! |
