I've seen about 3.5 MB/s for bursts during the first 10 seconds. I normally level out at 1.78.

Shouldn't affect a thing, except maybe your Shaw WAN IP. Your existing LAN setup doesn't care what modem is in front of it.

I don't think you have to fix/change anything.
Wired / Wireless, it changed nothing when I swapped modem.
As Soundy mentioned, the only thing that may change are your IP addresses.

If you have 3 computers, make sure to remember which one has 192.x.x.100, 192.x.x.101, etc, in case you forwarded any ports to a specific computer.

Your LAN IP addresses wouldn't change, because they're set by your router, not your modem.

You wouldn't, because it won't "mess it up". The IP *might* change, that's all.

Anyone notice a huge speed drop the last few days? Like to the point where RS take awhile to load. Same with videos off youtube. I tried to run speedtest and it doesnt even start sometimes. When it does, I got around 2,000 kbps.

Fucking Shaw!

Bump.

Is anyone still getting these high speeds?
My net kept getting disconnected last night so I unplugged my modem.
Now, I'm getting the regular 5.0Mbps.

edit: resetted router and I got normal speed again. Must've reverted back to old QoS settings or something when I unplugged it. Doh!

Fucking Shaw!

No, perhaps you should call them up and have them check your network...

Shaw will be killing off the 8 year old Terayon network before the end of this year. If you are still using that piece of crap or know anyone else that does, tell them to get it swap at Shaw store OR call the helpline up to have them mail it to you FOR FREE!
