hmmm wtf! i sort of don't believe my latest result with my EF: 6.37L/100km.

previous record was 6.50L/100km and lately i've been getting shitty results above the 7.1L/100km mark!

also new record for my EK 8.2L/100km.

Question for you high(er) compression guys: Do you guys get better mileage out of Chevron 94 or Shell 91? I'm wondering if it's worth it to go 94 instead of 91...cuz I usually go to Shell for 91.

Higher octance gas will burn faster which = poor gas mileage. My 07 Si has 11:1 compression and I use shell 91. I have tried 94 octane, it made no difference. But if yu are heavily modded then that is a different story.

^Have you tried 94 for a few tanks? Or is your experience based on just 1 tank of 94?

higher octane gas does not burn faster all gasoline burns the same speed. higher octane gas is less prone to auto ignition so thats why you use it in a higher compression engine. wikipedia that shiz bro

5-6 consecutive tanks? My last tank was Chevron 94 and my fuel economy was noticeably better than with Shell 91.

hmmmmm so apparently the timing on my EF was horrid and even the t.belt was off by a couple of teeth. interested to see how correcting this will improve my fuel efficiency!
