Maclean's Magazine--Most dangerous cities in Canada

Surrey is actualy safer then Vancouver, Chilliwack and PG

http://blog.macleans.ca/2009/03/04/t...%80%94by-rank/

hotjoint 03-05-2009 08:04 AM

:lol at everyone thinking surrey is more dangerous then vancouver

FiveDime 03-05-2009 08:21 AM

vancouvers population is only 609785?

wouwou 03-05-2009 08:26 AM

That's because the article was written before the shooting :D

CRS 03-05-2009 08:47 AM

2damaxmr2 03-05-2009 10:17 AM

delta is ranked 82nd i feel safe already

smk 03-05-2009 12:03 PM

port coquitlam 11th... really?

billboa 03-05-2009 12:19 PM

fuckin rights chilliwack #5!!!! "Thats how we do around here"

i would say these are pretty accurate. the province did somethign similiar a year or 2 ago and chilliwack was 6th or 7th and the other cities were about in the same place they were in this one.

Vansterdam 03-05-2009 12:23 PM

lol pho phuc lai article

quasi 03-05-2009 12:34 PM

It's based on per capita and it includes everything. Look at the murder rate, because Port Coquitlam only has 60,000 people you get a couple murders and it's equivilant to 20 people getting killed in Vancouver or 14 in Surrey.

You can use statistics to prove or disprove anything you want it's all in the wording.

Gh0stRider 03-05-2009 12:41 PM

burnaby...16th?

Yeah.. they've got Kelowna listed twice. At #19 and #63. So, either it's safer than average or more dangerous than average.

Black SC2 03-05-2009 07:07 PM

Data from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories are excluded from the provincial and territorial score calculations due to their extreme crime rate values, which are inconsistent with the distribution of the rest of the country.

Snowmobile theft and liquor truck robberies must be HUGE up north.

_Hotsauce_ 03-05-2009 09:42 PM

^
LOL -->>11

wahyinghung 03-05-2009 10:39 PM

I guess Surrey and Vancouver should be higher up now after all the recent shootings since this article was using 2007 data.

My buddy is a prison guard in a small town up in the NW territories and nearly 65% of the town's population, roughly 2100 people, have been in jail for one thing or another.
