Epic race, good job to Vettel and Webber.

SkinnyPupp 04-20-2009 09:12 AM

Red Bull gives you wins!

HonestTea 04-26-2009 02:22 AM

Wow that was a boring GP. After 20 laps, it was clear that Button would win. Good for Button, but boring in terms of an exciting race :(

impactX 04-27-2009 01:17 AM

Would be interesting to see Ferrari bounce back with their rumored triple-decker diffuser.

HonestTea 04-27-2009 01:41 AM

Yeah, this race was meh...wasn't really that exciting =/

Maybe it's because I didn't watch it live and instead, recorded it and watched it in the afternoon :)

SkinnyPupp 06-04-2009 07:28 PM

OK so after 2 months of stagnating on page 10 of the VAC, I think my point has been made about having this thread in the wrong forum. So I'm moving it permanently to Sports.

impactX 06-05-2009 02:47 AM

Or everyone is just sick of seeing Button winning, the politics of F1, the budget teams entering F1 next year, and Max Mosley's craziness. :D

SkinnyPupp 06-05-2009 02:52 AM

I was SO hoping for just a nice clean season, with more competitive parity among the teams, and no fucking politics.

Unfortunately, I guess it just won't happen.

Part of me wishes Ferrari would do good on their threat, and just leave F1. Like that's gonna happen though

Hondaracer 06-05-2009 03:02 PM

man i downloaded and watched the BBC coverage of the monaco GP last night, their presentation is sooo much better than speeds..

SkinnyPupp 06-05-2009 09:33 PM

TSN used to show the ITV feed live.. Do they do that with BBC coverage now?

I agree, BBC's F1 coverage is pretty good. Not perfect, but surely better than Speed.

I watched a race on TV in Japan before.. That was fucking whacky. They had cartoons of all the drivers and everything :lol

Hondaracer 06-05-2009 10:16 PM

lol

Blinky 06-05-2009 10:30 PM

TSN uses the BBC feed.

I haven't watched the Speed feed this year, but I prefer the British booth crew (Brundle and ???) over the verbose Varsha and Hobbs.

How does Speed handle commercials? TSN split-screens the live F1 feed with commercials and pipes in the audio for the advertisements. Really annoying -- I'd rather that TSN actually cut for commercials, even if this did make the broadcasts run a bit longer...

Eff-1 06-08-2009 08:34 PM

Saw on TSN today that KERS will be discontinued after this season.

lol the management of F1 is such a joke right now. Makes Gary Bettman look like a genius.

LMFAO I KNOW! The FIA(Max Mosley and Bernie) are such jokers...Their we're only like 36 000 fans at Istanbul over the weekend...yet Bernie pulls Montreal GP(mostly, if not always sold out and packed) and Indianapolis GP's out of the GP line-up...

Bernie you marketing GENIUS!

Also this season is practically over, Jenson Button/Brawn for WDC and WCC, after Silverstone or Spa is when he'll probably clinch it..what a gay season :( Looking forward to 2010 already with new teams joining, like Lola, USGP and maybe Lotus.

PS: You guys know whats bullshit? TSN was showing Sportscenter until 6am, then French Open and SPEED was showing some gay show until 5:30 then some NASCAR event...talk about GAY..

dai3yuen 06-09-2009 05:41 AM

Gay season? Harkens back to the Schumi years where it was all over by the fourth race....at least this year, it appears that BGP has some competition from RB and maybe a couple of others..,although, I won't be disappointed when JB & Brawn wins both the WDC & WCC!

I can't wait for next season as hopefully this will mean the return of pre-qualifying!

BTW, the race was on TSN2 but they don't show the pre-race build up anymore that ITV used to do. Not sure if BBC does it or not, but I miss that...especially the grid walk & interviews!

Great68 06-09-2009 08:22 AM

Last season was WAY more exciting.

Maybe it was because there was more rain, or Ferrari and McLaren were more evenly matched, or both teams made more mistakes... Either way it was much more exciting to watch.

Good thing they didn't change the points system to most wins, or this season WOULD practically be over already.

On another note, I HATE TSN! They seem to do their stupid commercial split-screens right when there's some good action.

Blinky 06-09-2009 10:05 AM

There's never a good time for the commercial split screens - MAYBE an untimely safety car (when nobody is in their pit window)...

I'd rather that they just effectively "pause" the live feed at the moment of going to break. Also ISTR a few years ago, TSN did have a split advertising arrangement, but they had a title sponsor such that the sound was still on the f1 broadcasat.

Fuck yeah it's a gay season! Compared to last season and the season before...Both seasons came down to the last race in Sau Paulo..that's a lot more exciting then Jenson Button/Brawn clinching the title after Silverstone or Spa..

Great68 06-09-2009 03:51 PM

What's ironic is that the rule changes were supposed to make for closer racing.

That sure worked well...

at least there is more passing than ly....but they got to get rid of those soft compound tires...or at least make them not fall off so quickly.....

I hope Jenson Button and Brawn GP win the title.....however, I think the other "big" teams are going to make tremendous progress over the next 5 races.....I believe there is still 11 races to go.....even though Jenson has over a 30pt lead over Vettel...all it takes it a couple of DNFs by Jenson and a couple of wins by Vettel...and it will be close....
