Thieves caught stealing at the new Wal-Mart
 

VANCOUVER - Vancouver's new Wal-Mart location has been the target of thieves. Police say three men broke into the store on Grandview Highway around 1:00 this morning.

The trio had gathered a few items to steal before being interrupted by the store's manager.

All three of the would-be discount crooks took off empty-handed.

Surprised people don't know there's been a Wal-Mart in Vancouver since a couple months ago. :p

It's the old Costco warehouse on Grandview Highway.

It wasn't that Wal-Mart wasn't allowed in Vancouver, it's that they rejected all their attempts to build one. So... they found a backdoor in by using the old Costco warehouse.

That's why it's not as good as other Wal-Marts... but still better than nothing!

That made the news must be really slow to report theft under cases, unless they provide stats on how badly this new walmart is getting hit then that would be news worthy

Where have you been?? There's a half-dozen of them in the Lower Mainland - besides Vancouver, there's New West (Queensborough), Burnaby (Lougheed Mall), Langley (200th and 64th), three in Surrey (Nordel, Guildford, and a huge one near White Rock), North Van (Capilano Mall)... not to mention a couple dozen more around BC.

i love the walmarts in the states, have EVERYTHING, even liquor, groceries too. the ones in reno and vegas have slot machines too... gas stations in reno even has slot machines... haha

It replaced the Costco. Well anyway, it's beside the new Canadian Tire too.
