so if an officer tazered the man and he died, everyone will protest if an officer shoots the man with a gun, he is accused by the "general public" that he used excessive force. do you people expect the officer to just stand there and be stabbed? |
Movies and TV shows have protrayed cops as such highly skilled fighting ninja assassins that the general public expect these police officers to be not scared of anything less then a gun. Bums are hard people to deal with most of the time. More often then not they will try to fight you if they feel that you're invading there space or taking something of theirs. Hopefully the shooting was justified... if not then....well i guess the powers that may be need to look into how to trade these officers better. |

Taser would not be used because: 1) Not all VPD members have less-lethal training; 2) If she chose to use taser, she only had 1 chance to land the taser prongs. If the officer failed to do so, she would have no time left for any other force options. Refer to #47 for the force options. Let's see how the investigation turns out. |

It sfunny how so many people say they should hvae shot him in the leg I would really like to see one of you guys shoot a leg at a distance when your under pressure. if you miss one of those bullets is heading straight for an innocent victim. Cops are trained to shoot for the biggest target available and that happens to be the chest. And also so many people say they should have used a taser but now since there has been such a huge outcry for the banning of tasers cops are hesitant to use them now and if they dont have the taser to use the next up from that is a gun. People and media make such a big deal about using tasers that now there is gonna be alot more dead bodies dropping because the cops arent gonna use a taser cause there scared a baton is not appropriate when the guy is coming at you with a knife because your risking yourslef injury and pepper spray is not going to stop someone from coming at you with a knife the momentum will carry through and they can still stab you. |

cops not only just shoot bums because they are "less than human" remember the case on Granville a few years ago? that big fat dude charging onto a MALE cop WITH A CHAIN! (there were like 4 of them if i remember correctly), and they still shot the shit out of him. in this case, it was only 2 female officers vs. a bum with knife (who probably has AIDS, at least high chance) my life vs. your life? i'd rather lose my job and not have AIDS for the rest of my life. whoever has the balls to threat the police deserves the possible consequences that can happen to them, including death. |

Airport + taser = murder Downtown + knife = justified shooting The MOST disturbing, and I mean, extremely disturbing part, is how they deleted the video evidence. This should be shocking for all. Deleting evidence like this is like pouring lube on a slippery slope. Imagine if it were your mom, dad, brother, sister, friend, or relative that was shot by the police, and video evidence of it was deleted. You could choose to trust the police officer's version of events, but if they have nothing to hide, why delete the evidence? Can we even believe that there was a knife? I know if I were a corrupt cop(and they are out there) I would carry a knife or some other weapon to plant on people after I had shot them. |

I agree with Los Bastardo The homeless cause crime rates to go up. My house has been broken into before and I'm guessing it was a junkie. |
Don't confuse homeless people with criminals; there are homeless people who are clear of their drug habits and line up at the soup kitchen for food instead of breaking into your car. |
