Ahhh, my fallout shelter can be put to use now. |
oh em gee! oh em gee! zomfg we diessss! |
These dates creep me out all the time, and they always have such good scientific evidence to back themselves up so it makes it sound so real, whether it'd be happening or not =( And all these discovery channel shows. Blah! Now I wish Gundams really existed. Then we can fly into outer space and avoid these flying meteors and live in those outer space plants and escape earth. Damn those Japanese animes cramming these things into our heads. |
NASA says it could happen, but this coming from a bunch of dudes that couldn't do metric conversion... |

Revscene, fear not. I got an idea. What if I told you about a plan that could not only save the earth, but productive and useful for us? It might even turn the recession around, and accelerate economic growth! First, we know that the sun shoots out plasma balls into outer space. These hit earth every day, but according to the article, 2012 is when the next solar storm occurs. This means that a solar storm that has been occuring in the past is bound to happen again, however, in the past we didn't have gadgets, internet, or even revscene to get affected by the solar storm. BTW, yes revscene will probably be down for a quite a bit if this solar storm occurs. Anyways, back on topic. Solar storms occur when the sun emits plasma from its surface: http://www.newscientist.com/data/ima....300-1_300.jpg http://www.nersc.gov/news/annual_rep...es/sun-lrg.jpg This shows that even though this has been happening for awhile, scientists have a good gut feeling that we're probably due for a huge gigantic out of the ordinary spike sometime coincidentally around 2012, the year we're expected to all die: http://sst.rncan.gc.ca/rrnh-rran/ima...j3_fig3_e_.jpg Usually when this happens, a safe amount is absorbed by earth. The remaining majority is flung outwards into space: http://sst.rncan.gc.ca/rrnh-rran/images/proj3_fig1.jpg The enterprise can also create a force field. But unfortunately, this is just science fiction guys! I'm just kidding guys, this is just a joke, but enjoy the humor of this picture please: http://www.daviddarling.info/images/...tor_shield.jpg Alright, now let's get a little serious. We want to save the earth, right? Well, what should we do, you might ask. First, we need to create something that has enough force to move our moon. An atomic bomb should do for now http://www.historylink101.com/ww2pho...mb-fat-boy.jpg http://images.encarta.msn.com/xrefme...9/T039873A.jpg http://www.tom-watson.co.uk/wp-conte...8/the-moon.jpg Alright, once we have placed a bomb on the side of the moon, the astronauts should return back to earth because it's dangerous. Then, using some advanced physics, trigonometry, geometry, basically everything we understand about math, we should be able to calculate which point on the moon is needs to have force exerted on it to cause it to move a certain direction. http://s3.amazonaws.com/learnhub.com...479-medium.jpg http://img.sparknotes.com/content/te.../satellite.gif Then we explode the bomb on the moon. It should look something like this, except not on earth of course http://www.aip.org/history/einstein/images/ae42.jpg Now, after exploding the bomb, it should cause the moon to travel a certain direction. Obviously we want it to hit the plasma cause we don't want the plasma to hit us. Once the plasma and the moon come into contact, we should see some Disruptive Hyper-Magnetic Plasma Disruption (DHMPD for short) occur for a short period of time. During this time, you'll see something like this in the sky while it happens. http://msnbcmedia1.msn.com/j/msnbc/C...11a.hlarge.jpg And there you go! The world is saved for just a bit longer. But wait, we're not finished with the plasma yet. Once the plasma hits the moon, the moon will come back and orbit around the earth once again, and during this time, we can land scientists on the moon to harvest the plasma. The harvesting should occur in a series of 3 periods: 1) Landing and discovering: http://sciencemode.com/wp-content/up...tists-says.jpg 2) Construction of machines on moon: http://www.terraserver.com/images/sa...ring_photo.jpg http://atpwelding.com/welding.jpg http://www.aymachine.com/images/high...-machining.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KZk9Y7QmeW...n_rover_02.jpg 3)Harvesting of plasma (**PICS ILLUSTRATE POINT ONLY**) http://www.ttalk.biz/images/Combine-harvesting-corn.jpg http://www.timstoreyonline.com/blog/...vesting_op.jpg http://imagecache2.allposters.com/im...UK-Posters.jpg Once we start harvesting plasma, we can use this abundant resource to build many useful things, which will jump start the economy and accelerate growth. We would be able to plasma for things like............ Plasma Cutters http://p-car.com/exhaust/making/plasma.jpg http://www.millerwelds.com/education...asmafamily.jpg http://www.bikernet.com/news/images/PhotoID19830.jpg Novelty plasma balls http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/store.../minpla_lg.jpg http://www.techchee.com/wp-content/u...l-27052007.jpg Microwaves, cell phones, computers.... http://www.legaljuice.com/cat%20in%2...ave%20oven.jpg http://www.cameraphonesplaza.com/wp-...llection-9.jpg and of course, PLASMA SCREEN TV's!!!!!! http://www.treehugger.com/worlds-big...-tv-thumb.jpeg http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/200...on_468x339.jpg http://images.hardware.info/news/ifa...nch-plasma.jpg So my conclusion is that this fact (not a theory, it's a fact based on something) of the plasma ball heading towards earth in 2012 will actually _benefit_ the US economy, since NASA is owned and operated by the US Gov't. Japan won't have anything on the electronics industry after america starts harvesting the plasma rich moon that we all look up at the sky to. |
I'd just like to add in what I think plasma farms could look like: http://spyhunter007.com/Images/missile_silo.jpg http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph...7-_637162a.jpg http://www.chrisjacobs.com/wp-conten...al_farm_v2.jpg these are the potential farm silo designs. we could start making Plasma-Farm designs and submitting them to NASA. Just give me a share of whatever you make from doing it |
You're perhaps one of the most fucked up users on REVscene. But I love it. |
They say it "could" happen... but all that means is that it's theoretically possible... even if it's a one in a billion chance. Unless they tell me in concrete terms like there is X percentage likelihood, I'm going to take this with a grain of salt. |
BNR32, that was easily the most epicly awe-inspiring piece of posting I've ever seen, anywhere, concerning any topic. Well played, sir. Though I fear that this news is all for naught, as it wasn't broadcast on Fox.... |
Well this post has turned into an epic win. So fucking random, but so fucking awesome |
I just watched "Knowing" with Nicolas Cage, and it reminded me of this thread...interesting stuff. |

I see a flaw in your design BNR32_Coupe how will the scientists on the moon bring the plasma they caught? in their hands? http://www.operationalmedicine.org/T...rical_burn.jpg science has proven that plasma eats human's face http://www.hotrodders.com/gallery/da...cid_burn_6.jpg |
