just needed to say this
it was probably one of the best baseball games i've watched in a LONG TIME
Japan is the two time world champion by defeating Korea in a 10inning thriller!

CONGRATZ!

but wow...this time around, the tournament was pretty eventful
seeing clubs OTHER than the USA is great

the asian teams have been hella dominating over the last few years.

how comes theres barely any asians in the MLB

Ichiro was the hero haha, Daisuke won the MVP and if I'm not mistaken he won it last time as well?

Korea and Japan did so well in the WBC because they prepared the most and put in the most practice time before the tournament started. It allowed their teams to really glue together and get in shape for the short tournament.

You rarely see any asians in the MLB because over a full 162 game season, other factors are more important, like talent level and endurance. Many asian players can't adapt to the long season and start strong but trail off half way through. The other difference between MLB and a short tournament like the WBC is scouting reports. The longer you're in the MLB, the more information is collected on you, so opposing teams will know all of your weaknesses and exploit them over time.

I think the Japanese baseball team is highly competent..more so than the US team.

Sure more practice and preparation are a factor, but isn't that just what sports is about?

but these two teams played a very technical sound strategic game. It wasnt about knocking balls outta the park, it was about gaining bases and to make the PLAY

Unless the Koreans were doping in the Olympics..... I doubt they needed to win this tournament by doping up..

Plus.. the home runs were a dead give away. (barealy made the all 1/2 the time)

If they were juicing.... they needed to double the dose up... :)

It was the first baseball game ive ever watched. I never knew that baseball could be so intense. Haha

Yea, the MLB is only good in the post season, but if its the regular season its the most boring crap ever.

I don't watch Baseball.. But I ended up watching this game and wow.. It was intense.

Great technical game! The announcers called it but Korea should have intentionally walked Ichiro and take the chance with Nakajima instead. But oh well, a really well-played game from both sides nonetheless!
