Police taking steps to prevent Canada Line to Richmond from turning into crime train RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - Richmond RCMP and Transit police are working together to make sure the Canada Line doesn't attract criminals. Community police stations will be opened at the River Rock and YVR terminals. It will be highly visible to everyone coming and going from the train. Police hope this in-your-face concept will send the message to criminals that they're not welcome. Police are also working on something called "SkyWatch." It would give riders a text messaging address where they could anonymously send their concerns to police. The Canada Line from YVR and Richmond to Downtown Vancouver will be ready to go around Labour Day. |
Lol the po aint going to stop no junkie wit nothing to lose, they r jus waiting on there guy to bring them some food. In da end da j'z r only around da skytrain cuz its free transportation |

Yay, more free transportation for bums! Welcome to Vancouver! First thing you see off the plane is a horde of bums and crackwhores. |
hopefully they'll pour into richmond from east van, we have a surplus here :) |

the best way to solve the bum problem is to send them all to Australia |
nice to hear they want to prevent it .... but this is canada... dumb shit ideas are gonna waste tax payers money .... just enfore pulbic transit fare and problem solve... if a bum pays for a ticket ..then no one can argue that he or she doesn't have the right to travel |
The thing about bums is that they get charged for not having ticket but they dun care one bit. They'll just hop on the next train. |

Since the train has to go around the barricades, technically, it should slow transit down, which would deter criminal activity. Barricades are a cost effective deterrent, since the only cost associated with it is the purchase and logistics of deploying them" |

NDP will eventually come to the rescue of the bums and declare public transit a "human right". Just watch. |
wow finally, richmond is connected to the rest of vancouver. ok, the barricades bullshit was stupid..why are they protecting gangsters and not arresting them? but the canada line will be a great thing. imagine all the girls pouring into richmond too eh? junkies will be on any skytrain they wish, sure richmond is a more attractive city for theft, but look at the security measures they're taking. we just need more honorable police officers ASAP |
now they just need a skytrain to langley and abby so all the drugs dealers can come over here :) |

put ID scanning security check points at random times. instead of checking for fares, check the whole history of the person. Set the system up so that an alarm goes off then start checking each cab sequentially starting from the front of the train. this should be fool proof http://i44.tinypic.com/16abck2.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/124yq6f.jpg |

turn-stalls, the ones you cant just hop over. and you also get the fair jumpers...downside is congestion. |

lol.. why dont they just start installing the check/gates into the skytrains NOW?? instead of waiting liek 2 years.. hell wouldnt it be easier for them to build it now rather then having to recnostruct it later.. why the fuck is our transit system people/ police so god dam retarded? ... |

Why is the sky blue? Perhaps our population in general is very stupid. Then the transit people and police just don't exceed the mean intelligence? Would explain a lot. |
not every1 is as smart as you jasons2000 |
As I have repeated in numerous posts, its the justice system that must change. Canadians love their vast freedoms and rights, but these same rights allow the perpetuation of crime ranging from marijuana (which I personally think should be legalized) to crack, heroin, etc.). Singapore had only NINETY FOUR drug crimes last year per 100,000 citizens, whereas Canada had like 93,000/100,000. I seriously think that if we enforced hard drug dealing with MANDATORY death penalty, the rate and obviously costs of drug crimes would drop tremendously. If mandatory death was imposed on hard drug possession, cops would have a field day, just rounding up everyone in the DTES, many of which are MS-13 affiliated dealers from Central America anyways. Killing these guys would save money from: a.) Customs/Immigration deporting them via fair trial hearings, of which YOU AND I pay for the court fees of judges, sheriffs etc. b.) Fees associated with prison time c.) Social services to reintegrate them, assuming the Canadian justice system was so loving and forgiving that we'd welcome them to stay here. All that cash could be spent on better equipping police, ambulances, schools, universities, etc etc. |
that skywatch sounds like a good idea |
Either that, or RS should form a death squad like that in Brazil or South Africa where the cops turn a blind eye and we'll just unload guns into anyone that looks like a crackhead/dealer. |
