i know it says 2003 and newer model year vehicles dont need aircare and 2002 model year vehicles will need aircare

but is there anyway around it if the vehicle was manufactured in the middle of 2003?

It goes by the model year of the car. There is no way a car manufactured in the middle of 2003 would be a 2002 model year car.

What's the 10th digit on the VIN? If it's manufactured 03/03, it should be 3. If it's 2, suck it up and pay the $45.

Any 2002 cars or older (01, 00, 99), will require aircare. 1991 and older = every yr; 1992 + = every 2 yrs

Any 2003 cars will start to need aircare starting from Jan 1, 2010.

The current Aircare contact runs til the end of 2011... so I somehow suspect it WON'T be going anywhere before then.
