But what's so bad about being 24/7 busy or away. It gives us a reason to ignore some people that we don't want to talk to without giving it away that we're actually there (or not!)

I don't get the point of being "away" when you're actually there. if you're too lazy to set yourself to away just turn on the auto one

i do it cuz, i dont wanna talk to some people at that moment. if i'm away, they will not message me. i choose who i talk with. there are times i will go "online". even right now, im "away" but im clearly here :)
