Some of you people have very poor history about this.

Please read what I said again, then read:

1) The artifacts belonged to the Qing Dynasty, not the country of "People's Republic of China" that we see today.
2) Puyi was the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty.
3) Puyi then became the ruler of Manchukuo, a puppet state of Japan.
4) If anything, Japan should have the right to claim the artifacts since they owned Puyi, the real owner of the artifacts.


At the end, Qing lost more than the artifacts because of its arrogance and incompetence. Why does it matter now?

The ironic thing is, if you were in China, making the very same statement about the artifacts during the reign of Mao in the Cultural Revolution, you would be sent to labor camps and be tortured to death.

yeah but its part of CHINESE history, despite whoever was ruling China at the time. The Chinese still have those ming dynasty vases etc because its a monument to our culture.
