DC5-S , ebay's got some rsx stuff, get it shipped across to blaine, and clear customs.. might be cheap

Calm down there.

I've had LOTS of work from AK. Including custom work left and right. Perhaps they just don't like you because you get offended easily.

does it make sense to cost $800 for fixing there bumper? (they wont be replacing the bumper, just prep and paint) but does $800 seem like a lot?

jlenko 05-04-2009 12:32 PM

Nope... that seems about right. That colour won't be easy to match either... stupid GM and their 20 different shades of silver/gold...

I backed into an 89 Olds Supreme over the winter, cost me near $600 to repaint part of the fender and replace a corner light... damn car wasn't even worth that $600, it was a major piece of shit!!! But it was my fault, so I 'manned up' and found the owner, paid for the repairs, etc.

im with jlenko on this one...

it does cost a billion dollars because they have a million shades. as well as a perfect color match is almost impossible as well.

DC5-S 05-05-2009 11:34 AM

so ya i sent the pics to new west collision and the guy said to prep sand and paint it will cost $500.. i think the 800 is a rip off.. im gonna go thru them.

DC5-S 05-12-2009 11:46 AM

ok guys heres the deal, i have to go thru icbc now because there is more hidden damage under there suv bumper and its going to cost shitloads to fix.. i need a icbc insured place to get it done at.. there is a craftsman collision by my house but i want it done at a good place.. not cheap paint that will start peeling off after a month.. if anyone knows a good icbc insured place let me know

billboa 05-12-2009 02:55 PM

shitty deal buddy this is the exact reason im trying to tell my ex when she parks to put it in reverse. she just dosen't listen.

like i said before. Arbor body shop in Vancouver is the best body shop that I know of. They are ICBC cert as well, so they will be able to handle your claim.

DC5-S 05-12-2009 06:45 PM

unfortunately thats too far, im from port coquiltam, i think i may just go to craftsman collision

hk20000 05-12-2009 07:08 PM

i came from westwood plateau... so not that diff, it's worth it for a good job. Craftsman is decent i heard from a few people who used to work there after HS.. however if you're paying this one, they ARE pricey

DC5-S 05-20-2009 08:13 AM

do you guys think craftsman collision will sand of the scuff/scratches off my headlight? if they dont ill be pissed and complain

jlenko 05-20-2009 09:48 AM

You could try buffing them out... but sanding a clear headlight lens is going to look like absolute shit.

Depending on how bad they are.. you might have to get a new headlight assembly.

DC5-S 05-20-2009 09:55 AM

not really if you sand it with high grit then polish it.. but i dont wanna have to do it since it should be there job to do.. but i have a feeling they wont do it and im gonna have to go out and spend money on sandpaper and shit

!Yaminashi 05-20-2009 10:14 AM

If theres damage to the headlight make sure to tell them
They should sand it out for you

If they're a good shop they'll guarantee their work and take care of any problems that you have

There's not much hassle if you're only claiming property damage and not bodily injury.

You both make an appointment to have them look at the vehicles and they assign fault (which in this case may be clear cut).

Then the at-fault party has the OPTION of having ICBC pay the claim with a corresponding premium hit, or, you buy out the claim and there is no affect on premiums (which is the same end result of not going to ICBC).

DC5-S 05-22-2009 10:18 AM

so i called craftsman today as they said it would take 3 days.. its not done, go figure.. getting painted today.. she said on monday its gonna get an alignment.. im like why.. shes like the tire was hit.. im like umm no it wasnt, dont touch the alignment i have a special alignment to the car.. she said uhh oh ok ill let them know.. i hope they dont fuck it up i got a custom alignment at dales a couple of months ago
