GTR is one of the few high end sport cars that look good in black.

And it was a major flop for GM who didn't make a cent from the car. I think GM stop production or cut production in half a few months ago.

I don't mind the R8 in black too, mainly because it makes the sideblade and LEDs stand out more.

I think Jah Dean means that a lot of the high end sports cars stand out because of their shape. But when you throw black paint over it, it hides all the angles and lines of the car. Prime examples are black Aston Martins. Half the time I don't even notice the black ones driving around. Just looks a random black coupe.

Still nice cars, but imo would look better with another color. I know there are many people out there who swear by black cars and black cars only. But hey, to each their own.

My personal favourites for high end sports cars are the dark greys. :sweetjesus: More subtle and not so in-your-face, but still shows off the car's shape.

What are the blue boxy things on the rear bumper? I've seen similar ones on SLRs and Porsches, but I hope the ones on the GTR are temporary.

Im pretty sure they're all temporary.. Just padding in case they bump another car, cause they park the cars so close to each other at the dealerships

+1 re: black. Worst thing is when people murder out their cars; it loses all the detail in the body and the wheels when it's all black on black on black.

Proponents of the all-blacked out look are usually the same people who like the flat black look - people who don't particularly understand design or aesthetics.

I am loving the ABT R8 spyder. However, that chrome sideblade on the black one looks absolutely horrible (in my opinion).

Those are some foam pad things for transport

I don't like the rear bumper on the ABT...

Your R8 looks better than the ABT. The Spyder doesn't look right without the sideblade.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks the missing sideblade looks awkward.

lol the ABT rear looks like a Ferrari Califonia's rear.

Maybe its just me but I still like the current PUR's more.

I actually think that ABT R8 looks fucking sick.. definitely has a unique look

The wheels look like they came straight from Kal-Tire with the chrome lip & black finish.
