You look more like a Subaru driver.

A couple things I'll say about the aventador now that I've driven one

1. It's a tiny cockpit in the hard top. I'm 6'0 and I had to wear a beanie as opposed to the full face helmet because I was too tall otherwise

2. The car I drove had 10,xxx miles on it. So relatively new, I found the paddle shifting to be quite delayed and this was in the full race/sport mode

3. I won't say I was disappointed, actually far, far from it. But I would say that I may have expected a little more out of the 700hp V12. The car is an absolute beast both in terms of engine and weight and you really, really feel that in the braking. I've never felt the sensation of that much weight behind me in any vehicle I've driven. Also the aventador Is certainly not a "track" car but the handling was still excellent around the track. Fastest I got up to was the top of 4th gear at 165mph, so about 220-230kms?

My brother who Is somewhat of an anal engineer described to me in detail as to why I may have been disappointed and how HP obviously doesn't translate exponentially when it comes to drag and other resistant forces lol

I have been thinking of making a trip down and doing a few laps. One guy I know just went to the Fontana track in ca. He chose the cayman R. Looks like a lot of fun! And if you don't spend it your wife or g/f will!

Omg...just brought back so many memories as a kid...the way you think about cars when you are a kid...not personal experience of course, but lots of posters and magazine cutouts. I'm friggin' old.

westopher 04-10-2015 02:48 PM

There was a guy in my neighbourhood that had one. He parked outside the convenience store one day and asked me to watch it for him when me and some buddies were like 8-10 years old and out biking. When he got back and I was still watching it he let each of us sit in the drivers seat. What a rad dude.

I was the guy stuck there for 3 hours LOL ahah I didn't expect to find this on here..

Turns out, the fuel gauge wasn't working, so I thought it had a quarter tank in it, ran it dry and sucked a bunch of crap into the carb and killed it. And then the battery died and I had to get it towed back as apparently nobody has a booster pack that works on a 6V battery, imagine that :D Bump starting it would have been an idea but it required me to push it along Wesbrook Mall and I wasn't ready to make that effort..
