anyone beat the solo campaign on veteran? i beat it the first run thru on regular and im trying to get thru it again on vet. some levels like in the favela im dieing like 15 times between checkpoints!

Vansterdam 11-17-2009 04:42 PM

veteren to me was easy as shit (xbox 360)

use your teammaets they hella good in this one, you can even camp most spots and let them do the work.

most of the time you gotta hit a checkpoint.. either by killing a certain ammount of enenimies so that your teammates can rush up..

also sometimes the checkpoint is not directly in front of you ( as in distance to objective etc.)

try using other routes / cover instead of runnign straight through and you should be able to get a objective/checkpoint

you dont even have to kill all the enemies to hit the next checkpoint.. just certain ones sometimes so that you trigger somethign on the map so u can hit the checkpoint/teamamtes move up

be prepared to die ALOT

hope that helps

There's apparently wall hack, aimbot, plus unlimited AC130. Fucker was just shooting the WHOLE MAP.

online has been cracked
all it requires is replacing an exe and dll in game folder, and a space in your nick
+ a new steam account just incase.

played 2 rounds.. got sick of it and uninstalled.

twitchyzero 11-17-2009 10:21 PM

^ playing non-legit online thru steam? I doubt that's gonna last

bypasses steam almost completely (steam doesn't know what the account you make is playing)
regardless the FPS genre is so saturated on pc, I feel like there are better games out there that are much better supported.

yeah i totally agree, all the features and cool shit console gamers are raving about now... are things PC gamers had back 8-10 years ago almost. the only difference is graphics.

my buddies that are all consolers keep showing me all these things but I'm so unimpressed by it.

I remember when halo first came out and everyone jizzed their pants, I was like huh are you serious?!

lol TF2 for the win. Ah i guess L4D2 aint bad either, but it's not really a FPS skill improving game.

Ch28 11-18-2009 09:04 AM

Almost level 30 now

Been so busy with MW2 online that I've only managed to get in 1 round of L4D2

Nothing really, just the limits of the number of players and mod support (which does come in games, ie UT3).

yea I always wondered... Valve in an independent with about 250 employees (across steam and everything) but some how they can put out multiple games, and support all their games with sometimes multiple updates a month and free content for YEARs after the game comes out. IW has like half the employees and can barely put on 1 CoD game every 2 years, not to mention the previous game gets thrown in the ditch. The number 1 feature for an online game is SUPPORT (imo) very few companies get it right, only blizzard and valve come to mind. TF2 ftw.

on console, I usually get close to 1k:1d ratio for most on-line game play.

Aren't a lot of those games put out by other companies through Valve/Steam? And don't they run a lot of shit off the same game engine (ie Source)? That was the way I understand it anyways.

And hasn't it taken Blizzard 16 years to come out with SC2? (forgive me if I'm wrong I'm not a fan). It's not directly support related but c'mon.

I never got the point of hacking, oh woohoo you killed everyone but none of it is your actual skill, what's the point, other than maybe to annoy everyone else?

there are very few third-party source engine games, just like valve source games cod4 and mw2 are the same engine with slight upgrades.

Blizzard to this day still releases patches for Diablo 2 (1999) and Starcraft (1998).

Valve developed Online GAMES
  • Counter Strike (1999 - 4 updates in 09, half-life1 engine updates in 2008 for 10+ y/o engine)
  • Counter Strike Source (2004 - latest update in august)
  • Team Fortress 2 (2007 - 20 updates since APRIL, multiple free content updates this year)
  • Left 4 Dead PC(2008 -20 updates since March, free campaign released)

meanwhile Valve is also developing HL 2: Episode 3, has released Left 4 Dead 2 this week.

my point was valve an independent studio with a staff of 250, runs STEAM, develops new games, and supplies regular updates for their games that came out years ago.

i'm just saying I'd like to see some support if I'm going to buy a game, IW released like 6 patches for CoD4 and one free mappack (not even free, sponsored by nvidia, that had reskinned-renamed maps from previous CoDs).

this shit is turning into madden.

I can't remember if it was discussed in this thread or one on a different forum, but is there support for this game on PS3 that will allow you to use a USB keyboard and mouse?

DanHibiki 11-18-2009 06:21 PM

I love TF2's Dev's. There's updates for each new addition is always humorous and it seems as if they really do enjoy updating.

I honestly thought the game was fine the way it was when it first came out and was surprised by the constant updates to-date.

I wish they were faster on the "Meet the ****" videos.

Not natively yet, but I'm working on something myself, just need a beat up PS3 controller to bastardize.
