clowe 05-20-2009 08:39 PM

danned 05-20-2009 10:16 PM

is it back in the days like billion in the draw?

Harvey Specter 05-20-2009 10:41 PM

Wow, one ticket eh.

twitchyzero 05-20-2009 10:46 PM

i thought they dont pay out the entire jackpot at once...they pay small chunks annually? and how much is the tax for 6/49 jackpots?

Harvey Specter 05-20-2009 10:47 PM

From what I understand your winnings will not be taxed like they are in the US, only thing you will be taxed on is the interest on your winnings when you put the money in the bank.

WC indicates "Western Canada", which is the district that the WCLC (Western Canada Lottery Corporation) services. The WCLC services the prairie provinces only, not BC. If the winning ticket was issued in BC, it would say BC. :(

Well, if you were looking at bclc.com, it would tell you which city or area the winning ticket was purchased at.

Looks like someone hit the extra too.

7seven 05-21-2009 05:52 AM

Apparently the winning ticket was sold in Edmonton

hotjoint 05-21-2009 06:53 AM

i think i recall reading something abt this on bclc.com
if u take the whole chunk at once, u get less than the advertised amount (less than 80% of the pot)
vs
where as if u take it out monthly, u get the full amount (the full 80% of the pot).
something along the lines like that can't remember exactally.

chinook79 05-21-2009 07:00 AM

got 4 numbers... won 200 and change..
two numbers i got wrong... off by one.. :P
pretty close imo
almost said hello to vyron.. now hello fancy dinner :P

Mugen EvOlutioN 05-21-2009 07:17 AM

someone explain to me

i havent even check my tickets and today is thursday

how would they know or decide who or which province won???

i mean i havent checked it yet, doesnt that mean there are still chances for others to win until everyone checks their tickets?

how does this work>>??>>

:confused::confused::confused:

TOPEC 05-21-2009 07:22 AM

i'm sure they have a database that tracks all the tickets that were sold for the draw and the numbers u bought are registered
so they know how many of those tickets with the right numbers were sold
so appearently this draw there was only 1 ticket sold.
u can stop keeping ur hopes up now.
unless u flew over to al sas or man and bought the ticket there.

hotjoint 05-21-2009 07:35 AM

when the machine prints the ticket, it keeps track of the ticket # so they know which ticket has the matching #'s right away.

7seven 05-21-2009 07:42 AM

Lottery winnings in Canada are tax free if you take the lump sum at once as it is considered a win fall. If you take the winnings in monthly payments, you will be taxed because those payments would be considered as annuity payments.

The Lottery Commission knows exactly where the winning ticket is sold instantly, down to which store location and time as their computers track all the tickets sold and numbers selected. In the case of last nights draw, the ticket was sold in Edmonton.

at least its not Ont.

6/49 is not rigged after all :haha:

TOPEC 05-21-2009 09:18 AM

65% of the total winning draws r from ont
BC only gets arnd 12% of the winning draws.

suprasian 05-21-2009 10:00 AM

i also got 4 out of the 6. won over 200 bucks. i was one number away from 260 grand. i had 33 and 6/49 was 31.

Ont has more winners as they have more players playing lotto according to the news
