why the hell is the city of richmond repaving the road section of no. 4 road
southbound between alderbridge way and westminister hwy?!
that section is like smooth without any bumps hump potholes cracks ditches
etc etc when compared to any other roads in rmd

section between westminister hwy and grandville ave.
that section of no 4 is the worst, its like boating in a car.

i was wondering the same thing while I was sitting on my bike stuck in traffic there. I shouldn't have turned dammit.

they probably have $$ from the last year's budget that they have to spend, if they don't spend it and have a surplus, they won't get as much funding deticated to paving in next year's budget

doesn't the city share the budget though, or do you mean each district/section of the city gets their own budget? there are definitely places that could greatly benefit from repaving. i am greatly aware of how much repaving every lower mainland city needs, thanks to my coilovers

i suspect they could be installing traffic sensors, shallow telecomm cables, power lines, etc

no they put in some pipes and wires for that piece of empty space next to garden city between alderbidge and Westminster

hence the need to dig up the road and then repave it. Simple.

you should see this one patch (where they dig for sewage?) in my neighbourhood, they just keep paving over the original bump... in a few years my car will get stuck when I'm forced to drive over it. A lot of people in the neighbourhood swerve around it :p

the secret to 4 rd is the right lane. its way less bumpy but you got to look out for the parked cars.
