Have you tried it?

AAnthony 05-20-2009 09:47 AM

Whatever is popular always get copied, so no big deal.

The name of the their products are the same as the one downtown (terimayo etc)....if i remember correct, that tall skinny nerdy dude even boasted how his tasted better than japadog......i tried it, and for 4~5 dollars....i even laughed at myself for being so dumb as to think it may come close in taste.

J____ 05-20-2009 12:11 PM

hahaha i love this quote on their site!! " Our English is very poor. The followings may make mistakes. We are sorry."

Meowjin 05-20-2009 12:31 PM

the guy at japadog makes a killing. 5 dollars a hotdog with redicilious lineups. I bet he makes 3-4 grand a day.

Meowjin 05-20-2009 12:32 PM

which reminds me, during the olympics im opening up a souvlaki stand.

plagrism is if they called it japadog as well
it would be more like a replica, which means its similar, but not the same as the original

Well, they do call theirs Terrimayo (vs. Terimayo) and Oroshi (same name).

Would be the same issue if I started a burger joint and sold burgers with two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun and called it Big Mac.

Not sure if technically whether its a "knockoff" or plagarism or replica, but it certainly isn't the most legit of business practices.

I called it knockoff coz it sounds the most absurd for food, and most fitting for the Night Market.

Grandmaster TSE 05-20-2009 01:32 PM

if it was a problem i don't think that the city of richmond would give them a business license to operate

Culture_Vulture 05-20-2009 01:48 PM

I could sure go for a Japadog right now.

it's short and small, just like their dicks

that's why there's always 4 or 5 of them to 1 girl in the AV movies

twitchyzero 05-20-2009 02:10 PM

the japadog guy came to ubc month ago and the line up went from the SUB entrance to near the aquatic center entrance

YK86 05-20-2009 02:33 PM

Terimayo and oroshi are both just names like ketchup and mustard. It's just like how every izakaya calls deep fried shrimp with mayo based sauce ebimayo. Not really a big deal.

Now if the name of the booth was Japandog or something like that, then that's pretty bad lol.

Why the hell does this place sell both japanese hot dogs and greek souvlaki? That's just random shit together right there.
