I get all my katanas/folding knives/etc from warriors and wonders on cambie between 17th and 18th ave. If you are looking for a decently nice one, be prepared to pay approx. $400. The nicer ones start at about $650 or so. There is one that I'm eying right now, because I missed my chance when they had it in stock. Its a katana made with L6 steel...truely an amazing sword, but with me debating on whether or not I should drop $1500+ on a sword, they sold the last katana.

If you don't mind spending a little more for a premium sword, this is a really nice one (I've got one myself).

If you are going to display a katana, I'm sure your guests will want to examine it, and yes, there's a huge difference between a cheap one and a quality one.
